Foul-mouthed and unscrupulous Ken Oakes overcharges, underperforms, and wants to argue and insult when his behavior finally crosses a line.

Pathetic.

There's no way to adequately express my disgust without resorting to the kind of language of which Ken is so fond.

Terrible, terrible place

As executor of my sister's estate it's my responsibility to pay her outstanding bills. Well, I got a bill with a returned check from Appliance Repair Plus in Shelton (360.427.1202), addressed to the estate of my sister. I had her accounts frozen immediately after her death and expected this to happen, that's what probate is for. They knew she had passed. They added a $12 fee from the bank returning the frozen check, fine with me, they had no control over that. What they did do was add another $40 (keep that figure in mind) fee on top of that. Now, any person with a shred of decency would have waved that extra fee because of the circumstances. Not them. I called to tell them I would be more than happy to pay the original bill plus the $12 the bank charged them but I would not be paying the gratuitous $40. The woman I spoke with never corrected the amount I stated, then said "I had to look in the obituary column to find out she had passed" (note that remark, as it comes into play later). She spoke to the manager and got the fee waived. Thank you. Then I looked further. At the bottom of the bill it says $30 fee for NSF or returned checks. I was going to mail the check in but then thought "no, let's see what kind of bottom feeders would charge a dead woman MORE than they charge everyone else".

I go in today (12/2617) to pay and the guy at the desk (the manager) was the only person who was not an oxygen thief. He was decent. Here are the other players-

I explained to decent guy what was going on and showed him the discrepancy between what was stated at the bottom of the invoice ($30) and what was charged ($40) and that I would be paying neither of those charges. He goes to the back room. Granted, I'm a bit irate and probably was not at my most eloquent. Here, in not strictly chronological order is what happened next:

Limpy douchebag- "you should have called us when you found out she was dead". Really. In his mind, the order of things is:
1. Find out sister is dead
2. Immediately call appliance repair company (360.427.1302) to ascertain whether or not she has outstanding bills
3. Call family and inform them of a death

Remember that, folks! Call your local appliance repair company first.

Shrieking Harpy- "We took off the charge, you should be grateful but now you're bitching?" Maybe someone forgot her noon feeding of live rats.

Shrieking Harpy "are we just supposed to assume that everyone that has a returned check is dead?" Here she has established they have multiple returned checks.

Shrieking Harpy- " I had to find out she was dead through Facebook". My sister didn't have Facebook. Please see her initial response. She's either lying or more than one person dies in any given two week period after they have their appliances serviced by this company.

Shrieking Harpy, when asked about the $40 charge- "that was a mistake". I don't buy it. Remember, she already established they have multiple returned checks. If you have multiple returned checks you are used to writing a specific sum, i.e. $30. To write $40 goes completely against trained and muscle memory.

Limpy douchebag- "do you think we were trying to steal an extra $10 from you?" Yes, limpy douchebag, given all the evidence, I do.

I firmly believe they were trying to take advantage of a person in grief, hoping that a small extra charge wouldn't be questioned. Sorry, not my first time at this particular rodeo.

Horrible Customer Service

This company was scheduled to come out to repair my washer by my Warranty Company. I explicitly told my Warranty company to tell the service that my home # was my main contact #. I had to leave town and be out of cell service for the next 3 days, so I had my neighbor arrive at my house at 7 am to await a call from this company, because my scheduled service time was between 8 - 12 am. my neighbor arrived and waited for SIX hours... only to recieve NO call or service person arriving to complete my service. After coming back to cell service, I had a voicemail telling me to call the company to give them the model # and serial # so they could order parts and telling me that they were not coming to the appt. Never once did they call my main # or the warranty company who could have given them this information. I called the company only to express my frustration only to be treated rudely by the office staff and then got a call from what I would guess to be the manager or owner telling me that they did not appreciate my call and that i better call HIM back and talk with him to complete another service date... only to be treated even MORE rudely.... even tho he admitted to having both phone #s... he never did explain why they didnt bother to call both numbers... He would only blame the "insurance company" for switching the numbers..This company has horrible customer service.... obviously wouldnt admit to a mistake or even apologise for any inconvience for the person who sat for all those hours for nothing....I will never do business with them again.... please beware!!
