        GPOD of Idaho began operations in 1968 when Fred Thompson and John Gellings formed a partnership with General Potato and Onion Distributors. GPOD of Idaho packs and ships the russet burbank variety of potatoes. The company works with a team of growers who monitor the temperature and wetness of soil, depth of potatoes to protect the final produce from blemishes, bruises and cuts.
