Annual eye exams are important for everyone, as they are the only way to monitor eye health and check for problems/diseases. Early detection of conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy allow for the widest range of treatment options and best chance of slowing or reversing any symptoms
Macular Degeneration
Annual eye exams are important for everyone, as they are the only way to monitor eye health and check for problems/diseases. Early detection of conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy allows for the widest range of treatment options and the best chance of slowing or reversing any symptoms.
Laser Eye Surgery
Our first trip to see Dr. Bowersox was Halloween night, 2006. When Dr. Bowersox finished his evaluation with Jacob his words to me were “he is a visual mess” and did not know how Jacob had gotten through school and everything else. I told him about our struggle with homework, attention and the fact Jacob was always into everything. That is when Dr. Bowersox began to tell me all of Jacob’s vision problems. He was born premature and had to undergo eye surgery for retinopathy at two months old. Now due to some of that he has to wear a hat and transitional lenses to keep the sunlight out of his eyes, because they are always dilated. His tracking is way off and he doesn’t know where he is in space plus many more issues. He began working with Jessi (a vision therapist) twice a week on many different things to help his vision.
Cataracts
We check for all eye diseases and rule out any abnormalities such as: glaucoma, cataracts, retinal disorders, diabetic retinopathy, cancer of the eye, corneal dystrophies, eye muscle movement problems, retinal detachments, optic nerve disorders, etc.

Experts in Vision, Exceptional Care. Our doctors work together to ensure your visit is comfortable and completed in a timely manner. We have a qualified team of professionals that will work around your busy schedule and address any questions or concerns prior to the appointment. Whether it’s a general eye exam or treating a condition that requires an in depth diagnosis, our team provides undivided attention to each patient so we can evaluate a plan based on your needs and our professional opinion. Our doctors offer full vision examinations and will diagnose and treat an array of eye diseases and conditions to keep your eyes and vision healthy!
Vision problems are often tragically misdiagnosed as learning disabilities or ADD/ADHD leading to special education intervention and unnecessary drug treatment of school children.
I recall when my son was very young, Dr. Bowersox did a vision check for his sports physicals and mentioned “well, he will need glasses before he drives”….and he was right.
Physical Therapy
The Convergence Insufficiency Treatment Trial showed that office-based vision therapy is an effective treatment. Studies on vision therapy show it is effective in improving reading. In its own sphere, this therapy is as effective as physical therapy or occupational therapy.
