The Top Shop Custom Counter Tops

Bill and his crew are such amazing people! I have had a wonderful experience with this company. I can't believe what these other people are saying... are you sure they are talking about The Top Shop in Shawnee, KS?! Anyway, I highly recommend this place if you are looking to get good quality work from a local business who know what they are doing!

Seems like a nice guy on the phone. His install crew who, didn't speak any English couldn't comprehend what I wanted. After they scratched the mirrored back splash and for lack of better terms destroyed my newly installed custom cabinet. He installers demanded cash from me and I didn't have any with me. I told them I would try to get cash at 730pm on a Friday night. Oh did Mention it was the wrong color and poorly described on the phone.

I've hired several home improvement projects in our home and this company was an experience I still regret when I look at our countertops they installed a few years ago. The edge overhang varies from 3/4-inch to 1-3/4-inch. I asked them to correct the worst inconsistency, a 1/2-inch overhang area that didn't even cover the "hidden" controls on a dishwasher. They would not cut a new top to correct the problem but couldn't modify the existing top to make an overhang more than 7/8-inch. I've read that the existing counter should come off before measuring and they did not do that. They blamed my cabinet measurements but difference in depth of the counter along the runs equals the difference in overhang. When they did the installation, they needed to use our tools and asked for a black marker to note the sink cut. They even asked another worker at our home if they could use his saw. They didn't clean up after themselves and left a mess of sawdust in the drawers, inside cabinets, etc. One of the installers told me other customers had complained about that and his response was, "It's construction."

I would not recommend doing business with this company. There was a lack of follow-up/communication, timeliness, and poor communication overall. I ended up feeling as though the company could not be trusted to do what was promised and ended up having to wait much longer to get my kitchen finished than if I had started out with a different company.
