When found early most women are cured. This is done by a combination of breast examination and testing, such as mammogram and breast US. We also do BRCA gene testing. At the annual exam, we screen for and treat common medical problems, such as headaches, diabetes, thyroid disease, vaginal and urinary.

Endometriosis
For every woman, the yearly gynecological exam performed by a practitioner who is specially trained in women’s health, addresses a variety of important concerns. A yearly pelvic exam is recommended for adult women. This detects many pelvic diseases: cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, sexually transmitted diseases, and cancer of the vulva, vagina, cervix, uterus and ovaries. The exam may also diagnose pelvic and vaginal relaxation problems (prolapse of the bladder and uterus) and urinary leakage. The causes of abnormal bleeding and pelvic pain may be discussed and treated. Hemorrhoids are evaluated and treatment given. The breast exam is a critical component of the annual exam and is necessary in all women including those having annual mammograms.

We offer routine annual check-ups, including a Pap smear, screening for infections, pelvic and breast exam and appropriate bloodwork. We do screening bloodwork for anemia, cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid disease, hormones, Vitamin D and a wide range of other disorders.

Ultrasound
An ultrasound is a safe and non-invasive procedure, with studies showing no risk to the mother or fetus. An ultrasound does not involve the use of radiation.
Mammography
Women with dense breasts are significantly better served when imaged with a combination of screening mammography and supplemental 3D automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) than when they’re imaged with screening mammography alone.

Our physicians are skilled surgeons with special training and expertise in female surgery. A wide variety of common female operations are performed, including hysterectomy, pelvic reconstruction for prolapsed bladder, vagina or uterus, correction of urinary incontinence, laparoscopy, D and C, myomectomy, laser surgery, endometriosis surgery and tubal ligation, and many others. We do minimally invasive laparoscopic or DaVinci Robotic surgery whenever possible. Office Surgery – WomanCare is up to date with the latest technologies. Procedures, including breast aspirations, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, endocervical curettage and ablations, polypectomies, LEEP, sonohysterograms, laser ablation of the cervix and mole removal are performed in our offices.
