        Founded in 1968, the Hidden Valley Zen Center is a meditation temple and retreat practicing zazen in the Rinzai form. Located at San Marcos, Calif., it conducts all day workshops on Rinzai Zen and half-day introduction sessions on Zen meditation. The center also offers Kanji calligraphy panel cards, along with recorded sermons and teaching on CDs. Additionally, the Hidden Valley Zen Center publishes Zen teachings and occasional writings by spiritual practitioners in its bi-monthly journal, The Oak Tree in the Garden.
