Dr. Glick has been in practice in San Francisco for over 40 years and is known as one of the early pioneers of arthroscopic surgery, performing his first case (a knee arthroscopy) in 1971. Dr. Glick pioneered and popularized hip arthroscopy and also developed a method of fusing ankles arthroscopically. He created a set of instruments for hip arthroscopy, initially known as the Glick Hip Kit, and now known as the Stryker Hip Kit, after the company that makes and markets those instruments. Until the late 1980s, Dr. Glick performed general orthopedics, which included trauma, spine surgery and reconstructive surgery. In 1977 he began performing arthroscopy of the shoulder, elbow, hip and ankle. He stopped performing spine surgery in the late 1970s and total joint replacements in the late 1980s. He worked in the emergency room and performed trauma surgery until 1997. Until he retired from surgery in 2006, his surgical practice specialized in arthroscopy of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle, which he continued until 2001 and then only hip arthroscopy. He is now semi-retired and consults on all musculo-skeletal problems in his office.
