Zook's Earl Scheib Inc Autobody and Paint

I really appreciated the service and paint selection. I was a bit tired of my red truck. Too many red cars and trucks out there and so I thought why not look into getting a paint job. I looked at the reviews for Earl Scheib asI don't think I've seen many commercials lately but I liked what I saw and went in for an estimate and a look at what they had. I found a nice blue/green color that now looks awesome on my truck. It looks brand new. No more scratches either.

I brought my vehicle, a 1975 International Scout, to Zooks Earl Scheib to have it painted and also have body work performed. I talked to the owner the first time, his name Is Mitchell Zook. On that day Mitchell looked over my vehicle and gave me a business card with an estimate written on it for $1250.00 for the body work and paint job required and signed it. I still have it.



I returned a week later to arrange for a day to drop of my vehicle and start the process. That day I was met by the general manager, his name is Justin. Justin looked over my vehicle and increased the estimate to $1800 telling me it would take a lot more work to repair than Mitchell described.



I wanted to get the job done and was asured that they would do the best job possible and I would be very happy with the results. The prep, body work and paint was supposed to take 4 days. I dropped the truck off on 11/1/2010.



I checked on the vehicle several times during the process and every time was told they are working on it and it would take time. The whole time it was left uncovered with the rear top taken off in the sanding room. It was covered in so much dust you could not tell what color the seats were and dust was everywhere.



I went to pick up my 1975 International Scout 0n 11/20/2010 it was very dirty. I had to stay there for 1 and a half hours re-assembling all the parts that they had removed. I had to help them put on the rear top, which took several people. They were very unorganized and had misplaced many small bolts and parts. They claimed they could not clean out the truck because the dust would affect vehicles that had been freshly painted. I wanted my vehicle back, so I took it as is and cleaned it myself.



The following day I looked more closely at the vehicle and noticed that the paint on the vehicle body and Top did not match. The were clearly two different colors. I returned on Tuesday 11/23/2010 and showed them that the vehicles paint did not match. They reluctantly agreed to repaint my vehicle.



I took my truck back to them on approximately 12/13/2010. They do their warranty paint jobs on Mondays. I got the truck back a week later. Once agin it was dirty and I had to stay there for another one and a half hours re-assembling all the Lights, insert Seals, remove tape from painting and wiping off dust from the prep work.



After having the vehicle back I noticed all the overspray on, window seals, steering wheel, tires, body seals and front seats. There was also damage of the seals from using the wrong tape on the foam seals. I talked to Justin about all this and he said he would have it all cleaned and to bring it in after Christmas.



In the next few weeks I started to notice the paint bubbling up in several areas. When I stopped down and showed the damage to Justin he said it was probably something under the paint that was causing the paint to bubble up. He said he would talk to Mitchell Zook and see what could be done to fix the problem.



That was when the communication Stopped and said that they would not warranty any of the work they had done.
