Dr. Meltzer is a board-certified neurosurgeon who specializes in pediatric neurosurgery and performs the majority of his procedures at Rady Children's Hospital San Diego. His clinical interests span all of pediatric neurosurgery and include endoscopic treatment of craniosynostoses.Dr. Meltzer performs well over 200 pediatric operative procedures per year. His research interests include central nervous system stem cells and the molecular biology of brain tumors.He joined the Division of Neurosurgery in 1997 after completing his pediatric neurosurgical training at UC San Diego Health and the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario. He earned his medical degree from Northwestern University. He is board-certified in neurosurgery. Recognized nationally for his humanistic approach to the care of children, Dr. Meltzer He has been featured in many newspapers and magazines, including Reader's Digest, McCall's, the New York Times, and the San Diego Union-Tribune. He also appeared on the television show It's a Miracle.
