        Deborah F. O'Brien has been a partner at Ihrie O'Brien for more than three decades. Located in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, she provides family law representation to her clients throughout the Detroit metropolitan region. The types of matters that Ms. O'Brien handles include divorce and the accompanying legal issues such as child custody and support, property and debt division, alimony, and order modifications. Many of these matters are resolved through mediation and negotiations. She also has extensive experience with adoptions, child support enforcement, and the obtaining of protective orders for clients who have been the victims of domestic violence or abuse.A graduate of the University of Michigan, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in 1979, Ms. O'Brien pursued her legal education at what was then known as the Detroit College of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor in 1983. She is admitted to practice before all Michigan state courts.Ms. O'Brien is regularly appointed to serve as a parenting coordinator and mediator by family court judges. She is often asked to deliver presentations to groups of attorneys on topics related to her practice area, and she has contributed numerous articles to legal publications. Highly respected by her fellow professionals, Ms. O'Brien has received an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. An active participant in several legal organizations, she has served as co-chair of the Family Law Committee of the Macomb County Bar Association.
