My mom has been sent home after a month and a half in the hospital with an ileostomy bag. The woman who came out for the "assessment" reeked of body odor so badly my mom amd I BOTH had to take an anti nausea medication and could not concentrate at all and sweat was running down her face. The next persin was a large Nigerian man who was nice, but asked questions to my elderly mother who lives alone, like if she owns her house, what TIMES is she alone & spent an hour telling her she doesn't stink (ummmmm, we KNOW this), continue to live as she did before the surgery (ummmm, she had clost to 50 staples and a 7 inch incision. She HAS to take it easy!), and prayed FOREVER!We are God-fearing people but are not paying for this. We pray and go to church, and don't need a pastor but we DO need ileostomy help!! An emergency came up and no one could come out..spoke to the nurse bc the AGENCY NEVER CALLED BACK so I was left doing all the gear changeout myself. One emergency and they COULD NOT MAKE IT...also he insisted on parking in our driveway in the back and wanted to go thru our garage where he spent lots of time asking about specific contents. Meanwhile my mom is exhausted by the time he finally leaves. Since we need help and haven't gotten it my mom put the phone on speaker as she called the male nurse we had somewhat regularly dealt with, and said she really doesn't see any need for them at all, ever again and he roars back w a deep, THREATENING tone, " LET ME TELL U HOW THIS IS GOING TO WORK!" The list of cons are endless and I could go on....and this is no more than 5 total visits and giving them the benefit of the doubt only hurt my mom, not helped. It disgusts me that these people need HELP, and r getting anything but that. They even tried charging for supplies that he took the second visit and never brought back. Do not let ur loved ones be in this care!!!!
