Rusk Junior High School an educational institution that offers a range of academic and extracurricular programs for students in grades six through eight. It offers classes in science, computer technology, social studies, language arts and mathematics. Rusk Junior High School conducts educational assessments on the basis of guidelines of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. It provides academic and personal counseling services, as well as membership opportunities for student council and the University Interscholastic Leagues. The school participates in a variety of special programs that focuses on homeless, migrant, dyslexic, bilingual, and gifted and talented individuals, as well as students with limited English proficiency and physical and mental disabilities. It organizes basketball, volleyball, football, cheerleading, cross-country, and track and field tournaments. Rusk Junior High School is a part of the Rusk Independent School District, which governs primary, elementary, intermediate and high schools.
