My spouse and I found our room (105) clean and with plenty of storage room for a three day stay. We also appreciated the decision NOT to have a table but rather to have a BAR. That worked out very well for us. I, personally, was intrigued by the fact that the refrigerator had no controls but somehow "chose" a perfect temperature for our food. I also liked that the microwave was extremely simple to operate. We loved the fireplace and were intuitive enough to discern that it was controlled by the thermostat. Perhaps the person at the desk could tell you that when you check in. I don't know. I was reading the complaints about not being able to figure out the fireplace and wondered why people complain rather than asking for help or information. The hot tub is quite, quite remarkable. Wow! Nice! The pool also "looked" great but I didn't swim because I like really warm water to swim in and the water wasn't quite warm enough for my tastes. If you like cats, this is a terrific office to visit. The cats are beautiful and friendly. What's not to like here? You have a person running this place who is a cat lover.

We enjoyed our two night stay in Rm. 104. Very cabin like room with lots of knotty pine paneling. Nice fireplace! Had very nice indoor pool and spa that were great temperatures.

I've stayed at Giant Oaks Lodge annually with family and friends for many years now. The cabin-cozy like theme of this hotel is wonderful. The staff is friendly and the location is within walking distance to some really good restaurants and a grocery store. We always enjoy the indoor pool and spa after a day of snowboarding. Its our number one pick every time we visit Big Bear and Snow Summit and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

The pleasant personality of the owner was apparent from the very first call and continued our entire stay. the entire complex was clean, beautiful, quiet and restful The small town was a pleasure to explore. And the food was delicious. The nights were quiet, and the stars are breath taking.

We were looking to stay close to Snow Valley ski area for a few weekdays of local skiing without hassling the drive or schlepping equipment through airports. Giant Oaks Lodge was perfect! Clean, sparkling decor, very comfortable beds, friendly and very competent management. The gas log fireplace made for an extra relaxing and romantic atmosphere, and doubles as the heat source. The lodge's indoor pool area houses the BEST hot tub I have experienced in my 40 years of skiing - extra large, perfect temperature, strong jets at a variety of heights. A perfect to recover and ski another day. If it snows again this winter, always iffy for So. Calif -- we'll go back right away. Blauer's Ski & Board Shop right next door sells lift tickets for 50% discount. Jansen's Market has a deli, frozen dinners -- lots of food choices to microwave and eat in. Very good Mexican restaurant close by.

A warmer mountain welcome or more grateful host/hostess, you will not find. This intimate group of well located cabins and lodges are clean, well maintained, well lit inside, well equipped (refrigerator, microwave, nice TV, balcony) and there is onsite heated pool/spa, grill, garden, all a short walk from the shops, restaurants, and bars of Running Springs. The pretentiousness and institutional operations of so many hotels doesn't work for me, but person to person care and service commitment do. It is obvious that management cares at Giant Oaks, and they've invested to provide a great guest experience.

I have to say that this was a great pleasant and fun experience. Our crew of 12 took over the lodge. Everyone loved it and were happy with the rooms. In the evening after work, we enjoyed the patio to sing and have a great time. The owners were super helpful, pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were clean and warm. I highly recommend this place.

My wife and I arrived late at our friends house to find that he had a power out problem that left him with no heating or electricity to his house. He tried a few places but at 11pm Running Springs is closed. Luckily for us Susa (the owner of giant Oaks) opened the reception door and sleepy but pleasantly saved us from a freezing night at out friends house. The room was beautifully clean and wonderfully laid out. We had a huge double bed with en-suite double shower in the bathroom and a big jacuzzi bath tub in the room. We only stayed for that single night but will plan to return soon in the future for a longer stay. Thank you Susa for saving us that night, top marks for hospitality.

Was a last minute getaway without a place to stay we stopped in at the Fireside Cocktails we asked if there was a nearby hotel and they recommended Giant Oak Lodge. Very reasonably priced very outgoing and friendly service. Beautifully kept property, was very impressed with the cabin 104 that we stayed in. The indoor and pool and spa were very well kept and open at all hours. We originally planned on staying one night but were so impressed with Giant Oak Lodge we decided to extend our stay for the rest of the weekend. I would and will recommend the Giant Oak Lodge to anyone who is looking for a nice relaxing getaway and I am looking forward to returning very soon.

I absolutely loved staying at Giant Oaks. It was clean, quiet, and clearly the owners take pride in their property. I've stayed in many places from Lake Arrowhead to Big Bear and this one, by far, is my favorite. The location is excellent! Running Springs is located in middle of Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear so we were able to enjoy both! Plus, by staying outside the city limits, it was more quiet, less traffic, less rif-raff, and we could actually enjoy being in the mountains! The price is very good compared to both Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear logding locales. Sometimes when you stay at places that are a bit lower in price, you pay for it with run-down, off the beaten path-type places. Not Giant Oaks! I am single mom with two young children, so I'm always looking for the best value. This place is affordable, they had a last minute availability, and no additional cleaning charges were tacked on that other places often require. One thing that stood out, was the care the owners take for maintaining this property. The lodge was in excellent repair with new windows, all paint and trim had clearly been done well and not very long ago, the pool area was clean and in excellent condition, and the grounds were well-kept and clean too. I really can't say enough about how impressed I was with the condition of our lodge and the grounds surrounding it. I would definitely recommend this place!!
