I have a friend from Jarrell that had a stroke. He wife is Asian and doesn't drive. They depend on me to run errands for them and take the wife grocery shopping. Less than a year ago, Austin Automotive in Round Rock did some service on their car in order for it to be inspected. All though the battery that was in their car was working properly, they insisted that a new battery needed to be installed as the battery was an interstate battery that they did not use. My friends (The Lambert's) were charged for a Continental battery 0n the invoice. Recently the battery went dead and I called Austin Automotive to make sure the battery was under warranty. The manager (Andy) told me it was under warranty and there would be no charge for a wrecker to pick up the car for service. When I called a day later to see if they had completed the guaranteed repair, I was told that The battery in the car was a battery that they did not sell or install. In short, the battery in the car was the one that was in the car at the time of the initial service for the inspection sticker. A new continental battery was never installed as they now insist it was. Think about what they are saying - That a bedridden man and Asian wife changed out the supposedly installed Continental battery for the old original battery. How would they even have access to the old battery and why would the recommended battery be dead after less than a years service. The wife started the car occasionally to make sure the battery stayed up. The car is only used occasionally and there would be very few miles on it since the inspection was completed, Truth is, NO BATTERY WAS EVER INSTALLED. The Lambert's called Austin Automotive upon learning about their response and asked their car be returned to their house. Upon the car being returned, they were told they had to pay a 280.00 fee for the pickup and return of the car. Honest, Quality Service Right.

Their slogan: "Good and HONEST service". My first visit to Austin's Automotive Specialist for a routine maintenance schedule ended up costing me an arm and a leg. I brought my vehicle in for 5k maintenance, and wasn't expecting any additional services to be done. The person at the counter, a Mike Small, told me that I'll be charged an upfront amount that will be zeroed out when repairs are made. When he showed me the bill, I was shocked to find out that I'll be charged almost $600 (after tax) for additional services that I didn't ask for: tune-up (which was done last year), brake flush, coolant flush. Technically, these things are not repairs. Regardless whether or not these services are necessary or recommended, Mr. Small should have discussed them with me know before deciding that's how much I'm expected to pay. Even though I have a choice to refuse to have the services done - and have them done somewhere else - I do not have a choice regarding the payment. I am required to pay the entire amount. How HONEST is that? If you like that kind of HONESTy, Austin's Automotive Specialist is your kind of place. This will be my first and last visit. I do not want to come back for the next maintenance schedule to have Mr. Small decided what additional services to be done and be expected to pay over $600 for them. That's not all. When I got my vehicle back, I discovered that my odometer was set to km/h. Good and HONEST service indeed!
