Comp-U-Tition

4-7-2014 Contracted thru Angies List, this turned out to be a huge ripoff and waste of my time. Jeffrey Bilger aka Comp-u-tition has very limited skills and was all about running up his time @ a ridiculous $80/hr and brazenly charging additional for freeware and licensing services.

I am retired on a limited income and can't afford this theft.

Most of his time was sitting waiting or texting. Didn't have his own laptop for researching problems, etc.

He charged several hours but was not able to fix any of the problems I requested, including;

Outlook slow start-up and emails stuck in outbox.

Malfunctioning wifi adapter on my laptop,

Unwanted pop-ups upon computer start-up,

Wifi surveillance camera issue,

A proper tune-up and more efficient, faster start-up.

All he did was defrag my drives and run a shareware malware removal program which he charged me an additional $180 plus $80 licensing fee (for both computers) before he would remove the "PUP" threats he showed me. He used "scare" tactics of likely massive computer failure to make the sale. He then rushed to my bank and cashed my check. Feeling something was not right, I found the same program (malewarebytes removal) he charged me $260 online for a total cost of $25 annual licensing fee for both computers. If fact, he acknowledged it was already installed on my laptop. When confronted, he removed his program and promised to reimburse via Paypal, which he gave me his account email and I sent a money request for reimbursement. He has refused to honor his word and won't refund a penny, referring to his "no refund policy", which was not expressed to me either verbally or in writing during our time together.

This young fellow really has no scruples, is not interested in satisfying the customer, and has very limited positive and helpful skills.

I tried to work something out with this guy because he claims to be financially strapped, but he stubbornly refuses any adjustment.

Not only would I not recommend Jeffrey Bilger, aka Comp-u-tition, but feel compelled to warn others to beware of this predator.

Jeffery connected via remote PC to my computer from the Sacramento area. He suggested a free anti-virus program that blows Norton 360 out of the water. He went through my computer remotely and tuned everything, while finding things that were slowing down my speed. I can't say enough about Jeffery's professionalism and diligence in providing an excellent service. The price for the amount of work is extremely fair and felt my money was well spent. Thanks again Jeffery, I will continue to be a faithful costumer.

Jeffrey did a fantastic job repairing my computer after it was attacked by viruses and malware and rendered useless. He was on time, professional and knowledgable about all the computer issues I was having. He answered any computer questions I had concerning the repair in terms I could understand. He was upfront about his pricing with no surprises. I would recommend Jeffrey to work on any computer problem from a simple tune up to replacing operating system software and even hardware.

Twice, Jeffery has come to our rescue. I needed a firewire board and DVD drive installed in my computer. I described that need, as well as, other problem I had with a slow computer. He came within a half hour and spent time installing the items. My ACER case was most difficult to take apart for the DVD installation. Then he tuned up my computer and installed a program to keep it free of male-ware.



Today, my husband's computer was unable to get on the home wireless net, plus it has been slow. Jeffery was here within an hour to fix those problems. After discussion about my husband's slow Windows XP computer, my husband decided to have Jeffrey build a faster, up-to-date computer. He checked out prices of parts, on0-line with us, and quoted a price far lower than any computers on sale at local stores for a faster computer with the newest parts. We eagerly await the new addition. Jeffrey offered to recycle the old computer, but we have friends who can use the old one.

Basically, today's visit, tune-up and clean-up of mal-ware was free because on the new purchase. Jeffrey will transfer the old programs to the new computer as part of the process.

We could not be more pleased with his service! He explains problems, what he is doing to solve them and then offers ways to avoid future problems. His prices are lower than the big commercial stores and he promises to come if we have any problems. What a relief not to have to disassemble my computer, take it to a repair store, and wait days for the repair with little explanation!

Jeffrey did a great job helping me fix up my computer. I was at my wits end trying to figure out what I was going to do with my windows booting up so slowly, so I started looking for help. This guy is local to the greater Sacramento area and came by and showed me what was wrong and fixed it and set me up with knowledge and the capability to keep it from happening again. I'll definitely use his services again if I ever need a computer techie again!

Comp-U-tition came to my home and did a fabulous job on cleaning up my computer. Jeffrey was very knowledgeable about what was wrong with my computer. He even recommended and installed programs that would help keep it running smoothly. He came out the same day I called. What a relief to not have to take the computer to a shop! I would highly recommend Comp-U-tition for any computer problems.
