Cypress Depot was born in 2000 with two men and a dream. The dream was to build a business with an environment in which they could do what they love everyday.....and what they love is working with lumber. It all began as just a small vision. However, Cypress Depot has blossomed into a dream come true. Thanks to God & our customers! Combined, the two owners, John Gooch and Kenny Hall, have over 60 years of experience in the lumber industry. John is a third generation lumberman. The Gooch Family has opened and operated sawmills all over the south for the last 100 years. Kenny Hall worked in Sales an architect mill works house that specialized in moldings. He was also the manager of a large sawmill for many years. Together, Kenny and Johnny have grown Cypress Depot from a small two man shop to a flourishing business complete with a full size showroom providing all cypress needs. A new addition to the Cypress Depot showroom is the new saw mill in Canton. Kenny and Johnny love to work with Cypress. It is very beautiful and versatile, and can be used in many different ways. Cypress is an Interior Decorator’s best friend! It is very unique and charming when used for interior trim, floors, and paneling.. Not to mention all of the Cypress Depot customers all over the south that adorn their homes with beautiful cypress cabinets and counter tops. They all make for a great conversation pieces! Cypress can be used outside, as well, because of it’s durability. It is used for exterior siding, shingles, and landscape design elements. These elements include outdoor decks, arbors, shutters, gazebos, and pretty much anything else the homeowner can think of! Although the cypress is used in making these products comes from all over the southeast region of the United States, Cypress Depot calls Ridgeland, Mississippi it’s home.
