Viva Roma Italian Delicatessen

Walking through the door of Viva Roma takes me back to my childhood in the 70's. Deli owners who know their customers by name, AND know what they like. Eddie has learned that I am not a big cheese sampler, but I love their meats. Even if its not my sandwich he's prepping, samples come over the counter. I have gained a taste for certain meats that I never thought to try before on a sandwich.



If you aren't a fan of the 3-6 foot heros because of the thickness or mess they can make, ask Eddie for the "Dinner roll sandwich" platter. The rolls are actually larger than a dinner roll, but smaller than a full Kaiser roll. Perfect size for sandwiches. Ordering this allows for more variety as well.



They also have a variety of hot and cold platters. If you're passing through or near Ridgefield Park during lunch time, head north on Main Street and stop in. Like Mike from Heavy Rescue said, on the corner of Main and Park.

From the moment you walk in the door, you're treated like a member of the family. And once you become one of the regulars, you feel like you're part of the family. Eddie has catered part of our holiday party for at least three years in a row. If you want a sample of something before you order it, ask them. Ro makes a ricotta cheesecake that is better than ones I have bought on Arthur Avenue.
