Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, founded in 1959, is an independent governmental entity that acts as a marketing organization for the county to promote convention, tourism business and recreation. The authority owns and operates Reno-Sparks Convention Center, Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center, Wildcreek Golf Course and Northgate Golf Club. It operates Reno Events Center and National Bowling Stadium. Reno-Sparks Convention Center has more than 500,000 square feet of exhibition and meeting space. Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center organizes equestrian and other livestock events. The authority sponsors art exhibitions, performances, music concerts, snow festival and bowling championships. It has a marketing and advertising department that promotes Lake Tahoe as a resort, recreation and meeting destination. The authority has a Web site that provides information about facilities, meetings, conventions and sales. Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority is located in Reno, Nev.
