We generally recommend that our patients have X-rays taken on an annual basis, so if it’s been at least a year since you last had imaging completed, that may also occur during your appointment. The length of a dental cleaning will vary depending on the condition of the patient’s teeth, but these appointments usually take around 30 to 60 minutes.

• White Fillings: Back in the day, silver or gold fillings were used. Now we know that Composite can be used, which is made of quartz resin, white and more natural looking. The fillings are used to fix teeth that have been damaged by decay and fractures. The impaired portion of the tooth will be removed and that portion will be replaced with composite filling. They are attractive since they match existing teeth and will last for years to come.

Dr. Michael Schultz’s education began at the University of Maryland. Following undergraduate studies, he attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey for his dental studies in 2001, where he was invited to join the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society. He went on to complete his residency at the Staten Island University Hospital in 2002. Dr. Schultz became certified in Invisalign in 2008.
