The Aroostook Medical Center

I live in ashland ME. so TAMC is the closest hospital to me and even they are twenty six miles away . I have a disc herniated in my lower back which causes alot of pain from time to time. On 1\19\ I0 I made a trip to TAMC because I srained my back . When I met with a doc he was a P.A. I asked to see a doctor and I was told there was not a doctor on duty . I was given an xray and was told to go home . I hadnt slept in two days and all I wanted was something to control the pain I was experenceing . Because there are so many people abuseing pain medication people like myself have to live our lives in pain . If tamc was properlly staffed perhaps I may have got some help but that wasnt the case . It seems that the Doctors in Aroostook county are scared to write a prescription because of the D.E.A = drug enforcement agency . I understand that theres a problem but what can I do to get help with my pain issues ??? The police department state and local should keep there nose out of medicine and stop scareing the crap out of these doctors and let them do the job they were trained to do . If they do this perhaps we will be able to get some doctors in my area that will stay . I should not have to live my life in pain .
