Carnett ( Lou ) and Ruth Falconbury founded Royal Oak Metal Craft in 1965. The company started as a one-man operation. Lou, the founder, was the estimator, fabricator, installer, purchasing agent, bookkeeper, accountant and CEO. The original shop was located on NW Overton Street in Portland. Lou's business plan was simple. Fabricate quality ornamental railings, gates and structural components at a competitive price. Lou sat out to sell his plan to local area General Contractors and homeowners. The plan worked. The search for a larger facility began. Lou located a piece of property on NW 29th Ave, in the northwest industrial area of Portland where we are now currently located. Our facilities include an eight thousand square foot shop, with a separate office building and show room. We have eight full time employees. Two of our employees have been with us for over Twenty years. In June 2001 a long time employee, Doug Ward, purchased the company. As the new owner, it was a "step sideways" because of his previous management activities in the every day workings of the company. Our goal has always been, to provide a quality product to our customers that will last for years and withstand the test of time. We look forward to working with you on your next project.
