Oak Bay Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist Church with a distinctive mission: We want to glorify the Lord and help people find Biblical answers to life's basic questions. 1. We seek the glory of Christ. 2. Verse-by-verse expository teaching of the Word of God. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable..." 2 Tim.3:16 3. Celebrate the glorious gospel of the grace of God. "For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God." Eph.2:8-9 4. Realize our constant dependence on the Presence and Power of the Holy Spirit. 5. Emphasize holiness of life. 6. Demonstrate Christ's love in us by helping one another and sharing the gospel as a way of life. We want the reality of the Presence of God and of His Truth lived out and talked about as we go about our daily lives. Each one teach one "who shall be able to teach others also." 2 Tim.2:2 "For we are His workmanship..."Eph.2:10 7. Encouraging and ministering to families who seek to bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, both to homeschooling students and students attending government schools.
