Amy's Pampered Pawlor

I had taken my 2 small dogs to Amy for a couple of years. I will say that she is a nice person, but she runs her dog grooming business horribly. To start off, when you walk in the door, you smell cat pee and there are anywhere from 5 to 6 cats roaming around the shop, which will climb all over you if you stand at the desk or sit in one of the waiting chairs. There is also usually a rabbit in a cage and a dog or two that she may keep at the shop. The seating area for customers has a large cat-condo structure and a litter box. When I got there today, the litter boxes that I noticed were both dirty and the cats had apparently kicked poop out of it all over the floor. Aside from the cats, cat pee and poop that was all in your face, Amy did not show up for our scheduled appointment. I got to the door and no one was there. On top of that I didn't even get a call to let me know she was running late or wasn't going to show up. The screwed up thing is that she had done this to me a few times before where she was very late, didn't show up or used the excuse that she had me down on the schedule for the following week. When she groomed our dogs they usually came out ok, but it took her several hours to get them back to me and they would often have razor burn or small cuts. Another groomer who had previously worked for her said that she never got her razors sharpened or adjusted. One time I got them home and noticed that one of the dog's leash and collar smelled like cat piss/spray, like one of her cats had sprayed it. It was stupid of me to overlook so much and give her so many chances. I even had stopped going there and decided recently to give her another chance but she did not show up for the scheduled appointment today and did not call me to let me know. My strong advice is to stay away from Amy's and read online reviews for potential groomers. Make sure that your pet goes to a reputable groomer as they feel stress just like us.
