Medical Weight Loss
Our board-certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners see patients for well child and acute illness on a daily basis. We also provide consultations on specialized issues such as depression, ADHD, weight management and adolescent services.
Pediatric Care
This form is intended for all new patients and prenatal consultations. If you are an existing patient of Elmwood Pediatrics, please call our office directly to schedule your child’s appointment.
Primary Care
Each child will have a pediatrician who is identified as your primary care provider. While our goal is to always have you see your primary provider, if that is not possible then you will be seen by another provider in our group. Our physicians and nurse practitioners work in partnership with one another to provide excellent care to all our patients.
Ear Infections
A doctor will be available by appointment at our Clinton Crossings office each holiday. Call 585-244-9720 to schedule a same day visit for urgent illnesses such as a new onset of ear infection, sore throat, high fever, etc.

Vaccines save lives by preventing disease. All of the medical professionals at EPG are strongly in support of protecting children’s health by giving them vaccines which prevent infectious diseases. Although we are willing to work with families who have concerns about vaccine efficacy and safety, we feel that parents who are opposed to vaccine administration to their children need to seek pediatric care from providers who have similar philosophies. We follow the recommended schedule from the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Labor and Delivery
Infants are born with the instinct to nurse and will naturally turn towards a mother’s nipple and open their mouth to begin sucking. The first two weeks of nursing may be more difficult than bottle feeding because of the time it takes for the baby and mother to become accustomed to the breastfeeding process.

Cervical Cancer
HPV is one of the fastest spreading viruses and is a very common infection. HPV affects the genital region but can lead to genital and cervical cancer. It is sexually spread and many will have HPV and never know since there aren’t many noticeable symptoms. For children 11-14, a series of two doses are needed. If the first dose is given at age 15 years and above, then a 3 shot series is needed.

Autism

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
If a medication refill is requested for a chronic medical issue and your child has not had a visit within the last 6 months (4 months for ADHD, depression and anxiety), you will be given a 1-month prescription and asked to schedule a visit. No further refills will be given until your child has been seen by a provider and is current for follow-up visits and physicals.

Sports Medicine
Sports physicals are largely required by athletic leagues and schools. During this exam, the pediatrician will check your child’s vitals, joints, flexibility, and vision. This gives them an opportunity to note any issues that may cause injury during the season. Sports physicals should be scheduled at least 6 weeks prior to the start of the upcoming sports season, giving the child ample time to correct any issues before the season. While a sports physical and an annual school physical have a lot in common, the sports physical does not include evaluation of the overall health of your child. Therefore, a sports physical should not replace a school physical.
