Crowns
Those who feel that they have a “gummy” smile can greatly benefit from esthetic crown lengthening. This relatively simple procedure usually takes about an hour to perform and is essentially a “gum lift”. During the procedure, the doctor removes excess gum and bone tissue and reshapes the smile to expose more of the natural tooth. While the procedure can be performed on just one tooth, it is most often done to the entire smile. The end result is that more of the natural tooth is exposed creating a wider, more beautiful smile.
Bridges
Dental technology now offers alternatives to the traditional methods of tooth replacement: dentures and fixed bridges, which are associated with increased complications over time. Removable dentures cause bone loss which impacts facial structure and can loosen or alter denture fit. Improperly fitting dentures can make embarrassing clicking sounds when eating or talking. Fixed bridges are placed by grinding down remaining adjacent teeth, also known as abutments, making these healthy teeth more susceptible to damage.
Restorative Dentistry
The procedure is similar to esthetic crown lengthening in that a local anesthetic will be administered. Small incisions are required to remove the gum tissue and reshape the area. When the procedure has been completed, the dentist will place sutures that will need to be removed in one to two weeks. After the area has completely healed (6-8 weeks), the final restorative dentistry such as a crown or bridge can be placed.

Periodontal Surgery
A local anesthetic will be applied to the gums where the surgery will be performed. During the procedure, some of the alveolar bone material is removed. The alveolar bone is bone in the jaw that supports and surrounds your teeth. Removing some of the bone’s external surface allows the teeth to be repositioned quickly as the bone re-mineralizes. New bone begins to mineralize within 20-55 days. While the bone is in this transient state, braces can move your teeth rapidly because the bone is softer and has less resistance to the force of braces. This initial periodontal surgery is a straightforward outpatient procedure, which in some cases helps patients avoid complex and costly orthogenathic surgery (the repositioning of the jaw).
Deep Cleaning
The general steps of scaling and root planing treatment may include a local anesthetic to numb the areas that will be treated. Your doctor may suggest a form of sedation, if necessary. The treatment often requires hand instruments and an ultrasonic tool to remove the plaque and calculus accumulation. Your doctor or dental hygienist will use the instruments below the gum line to clean the roots of your teeth and smooth any rough surfaces. The goal of this deep cleaning process is to clear away plaque and tartar as well as smooth the surfaces of the teeth to encourage the gum tissues to reattach to the teeth.

Dentures
Dentures are replacements for missing teeth that can be taken out and put back into your mouth. While dentures take some getting used to, and will never feel exactly the same as one’s natural teeth, today’s dentures are natural looking and more comfortable than ever.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Periodontists are highly trained to perform the oral surgery that is needed for the first part of the rapid orthodontics treatment. The doctor has also had additional training in the Wilckodontics course. Currently, only about 300 dental professionals in the world are trained to perform the procedure. You will also need to see an orthodontist to complete the second half of treatment: the actual movement of the teeth. Orthodontists specialize in the movement of teeth and are needed to supervise and complete the orthodontic treatment.
Gum Surgery
Gum recession is just one of the signs of gum disease, but can also be caused by using the wrong tooth brushing technique or as a side effect of certain medications that increase the risk of periodontal disease. Traditional gum surgery and some orthodontic treatments can also cause gum recession because healthy tissue has to be removed to eradicate the infection. The Pinhole Surgical Technique may be an attractive alternative to gum grafting because it is a non-invasive procedure. Unlike gum grafting procedures, there is no cutting of the gum tissue involved.
Osseous Surgery
At this stage, periodontal disease cannot be treated by antibiotics or scaling and root planing. Bone Grafting
Before the procedure begins, a local anesthetic is administered to numb the site. In one form of the sinus lift procedure, the doctor will create a small opening in the bone to access the sinus cavity. Using a small instrument, the doctor will gently lift the sinus into a more favorable position. This procedure helps to encourage natural bone growth to fill the space created, but a bone grafting material is often placed beneath the newly raised sinus cavity along the existing bone. This grafting material will then mesh with your existing bone, thus creating more bone.

Orthodontics
Wilckodontics allows the doctor to fast track orthodontic treatments by incorporating changes to the surrounding bone structure to accompany repositioning of the teeth. While traditional orthodontics focuses solely on the forces applied to the teeth, rapid orthodontics alters the bone in the process as well as the forces on the teeth, facilitating faster movement.
