Overall

The worst experience with Solar Innovations.

The door installation was a mess, they installed the door inside out and had to take it down and put it back in. Also they drilled some holes in the door and now those holes show on the other side, because they messed up the installation. Also they installed the door in such a way that the door would not open if the sun would heat the door.

Sales guy has no clue about what is selling. Told him I am going to use this as a primary door to backyard, he is selling me a door with no handle. I have to buy another door just for the handle, because to add a handle to the existing one would have cost more ...

The product it's super poor. After about a year and a half the door seals are failing apart ...

I have to say that the door is not cheap ... I payed around 18k for it and this is what I got .. Go with some other company and save yourself for any trouble!

Regular lubrication with a silicone spray or white lithium grease can help lubricate actuators and hinges in operational equipment. Tracks for operable doors and windows should be vacuumed regularly to prevent dirt and debris from collecting in the track. Finish with a Teflon or silicone spray in the track to keep it lubricated.

For the exquisite quality and unmatched performance requirements, Solar InnovationsÂ® was selected to provide all of the exterior Sliding Glass Doors for this project. To further enhance the luxurious feel and operation of the doors, the vast majority of the units were outfitted to be motorized â€” all controlled with the touch of a button. Driven by the size of the openings, two to four panels were utilized, and in each case one of the panels was inoperable, serving as a location for the other panel(s) to be stored while in the open position. Due to their direct exposure to the elements, each unit was designed with hurricane hook rails, extra high-performance sills and 1Â¼ in. insulated glass, creating a weather-tight seal, even during the harshest conditions. To match the finishes of the rest of the framing in the building, a unique AAMA 2605 finish was applied to the interior and exterior surfaces of the doors.

When the homeowners were planning to build their dream home on a mountainous, wooded-parcel outside of Colorado Springs, CO, they called on the architects at Design Renaissance to design a home that would take advantage of the gorgeous surroundings. In addition to large window and door openings, the homeowners desired an indoor dining space where they could be enveloped by nature from nearly every direction. The design called for the dining space to have a fireplace, that serviced both the glass enclosure and outdoor patio space, to keep the occupants warm when the weather got cold. In addition, there needed to be multi-directional access from the outdoor kitchen and covered patio area that flanked the enclosure, as well as the main indoor kitchen.

New Construction
The developers of a luxury condominium building in the Ben Franklin Parkway area of Philadelphia, PA wanted to take full advantage of their proximity in the historic city. From the Art Museum, downtown skyscrapers, surrounding parks, and the Rodin Museum located directly next door to the property, unmatched views from each unit was a primary goal of this new construction project. The team at Cecil Baker + Partners Architects designed each of the 27 units to have at least one large opening to a private balcony. Floor-to-ceiling operable glass walls, each over nine ft. tall and varying in widths from six ft. to 18 ft., were chosen for these openings. In addition, two openings, one on the street level and the other on the penthouse level, were situated on an outside corner, creating openings that spanned over 33 ft.
Demolition
SI INSTALLATION: Installation services may be offered to Buyer at the sole discretion of SI. Prices are subject to increase (but not decrease) upon discovery of unexpected site conditions at time of final inspection of the job site. SI may use subcontractors and/or contract labor to supplement its crew in its discretion. Installation cost may be adjusted, or installation services declined, based on unexpected site conditions, including prevailing wage, union labor, or demolition requirements when applicable. SI Quote does not include cost of field measurements, unless approved by SI in writing. SI assumes all shipments are to ground level only. Refer to Terms of Shipment section for further shipment information. If the product is installed above ground floor, a freight elevator of sufficient size, crane, hoist, or other type of acceptable equipment as to allow movement of materials without restriction must be made available at Buyerâ€™s expense. If that is not available, there will be an additional charge for a different means of transportation and unloading, including applicable labor. All staging and scaffolding is not included in installation pricing and must be provided by Buyer to SI, where applicable, unless assumed and quoted as a cost in SIâ€™s Quote. All electrical hook-up and wiring, plumbing, other mechanical connections and restroom facilities are excluded and will be provided by others, unless specifically included in Quote. Installation may be noted as “plus expenses”, which includes but is not limited to the following: lodging, food, tolls, parking, and unforeseen installation and construction costs. The above amount is calculated per job due to fluctuations in costs and conditions throughout our installation area. Demolition and removal of debris, including removal by dumpster, is not included in installation costs; should SI be forced to provide a dumpster or haul away debris, an additional charge will be required. SI reserves the right to adjust or substitute/alter installation crews based on availability and scheduling needs of SI. If Verizon cell phone service is not readily available at the site, Buyer must provide a land line or other phone service readily available for the benefit of SI Installation Crew. Buyer authorizes SI to place a sign on the project site identifying SI as a glazing contractor at the site.
Sunrooms

Decks
Common commercial applications include car dealerships, hotels, hospitals, and entrances to businesses or restaurant decks. While large openings are possible and very useful in commercial applications, the large sizes may not be practical for residential use.
Patios
To address the large outside corner openings on the street and penthouse levels, six-panel, no-corner-post units (OXX-XXO configuration) were selected. In both cases, this configuration expanded the indoor entertainment space to large outdoor patios, blurring the line between interior and exterior spaces. And for ease of use, each unit was motorized for effortless operation.
Gutters
Â® does not recommend using harsh chemicals on any of our systems. A simple solution of water, vinegar and dish detergent will work well to clean the frame and glass. Operable windows and vent tracks need to be cleaned and checked regularly to maintain proper function. Motorized operations, such as ridge vents, will need occasional lubrication. Leaves and debris will also need to be removed from gutters. For greenhouses, always test your accessories as a new season approaches.

Residential applications include openings to patios, front doors, and interior doors such as office doors. Â All sizes are custom, so everything from smaller scaled doors to a garage door sized opening is available.

Insulation
Â® Â casement windows are made from an aluminum thermal frame, which helps with insulation and protection from the elements, and will not rot, warp, and possibly succumb to termites.
Masonry
Concrete, Core Filled Block, and/or Solid Masonry: If SI based Quote on concrete, core filled block, and/or solid masonry substrate, SI will be attaching to solid concrete with proper embedment and edge distances. This standard pack-out is defined as 2,000psi concrete able to withstand a minimum bearing strength of 750lbs with a 1â€ embedment for a minimum of (2) Â¼â€ Tapcon fasteners.
Caulking
Mineral spirits may be used to remove grease, sealants, or caulking compounds. Use a dilute solution of under 10% muriatic acid to remove concrete on the aluminum. Remove excess silicone with a razor blade, followed by an isopropyl alcohol wipe to remove residue.
