        Founded in 1948, Arthritis Foundation is an organization that supports the more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions. Based in Phoenix, Ariz., it is a contributor to arthritis research in the world, funding more than $380 million in research grants. The firm provides an array of community-based services, such as self-help courses, water and land-based exercise classes, instructional videotapes, public forums, brochures and booklets, among others.
