this place is truly an amazing place. my sister heard about this restaurant and so we decided to check it out because of the sushi. the sushi is fresh and delicious. i tried other dishes like the chicken teriyaki which wasn't so good. it was ok but the chicken was kind of hard. i would rather eat the sushi. i highly recommend that. the service was good too. everyone was kind and nice. if your a sushi lover, you definitely have to try this place out!

Just ate there about a week ago. Although it was very busy we had great service and the food was great. After we ate we went over to the bar and Nick the bartender made us some great drinks. I would definitely recommend this place to any sushi enthusiasts. Ignore all the bad remarks because to be honest the food here is great. Great atmosphere too, epecially on the second floor. I recommend it!.

we returned from over sea and seemed like flavor just left from this establishment, chilean sea bass we used to enjoy has just became ""blah"" what has happened to flavor it used to have? Tempura we ordered
was oil soked and dripping. Sushi was average with just fancy decorations and portions were little on small size. It was a disappointment from what it used to be few years ago. I will look for a new sushi place to dine.
The waitstaff was very friendly as I entered the restaurant. At first, they told me I had to wait if I wanted a seat in the downstairs dining room which was interestingly spacious, and surprisingly they had an open table in the more secluded second floor. In a rush, my husband and I agreed. The atmosphere of the second floor was very nice.. would recommend to people if they want a date environment. The booths were lovely. So for the food. I enjoyed the maki rolls and tempura dishes, despite the small sushi portions.. which was reasonable because of the reasonable pricing. Overall, I had a great impression of fuji mountain when I went there expecting nothing due to the negative ratings on citysearch. I definitely recommend everyone to check it out before they make judgements based on the ratings of the place.
me and my girlfriend went there on wednesday night, we tried bout 5 of their special rolls and they were all
good and creative, personaly i liked the washington roll the best( octopus and avocado sauce on top of a roll, it was creamy and spicy~~ ) the service was good, got our food on time, servers were friendly... overall we enjoyed very much

I read a lot of good reviews-- I was going to go to POD but thought I'd give this place a try. I ate on the bottom floor, didn't see the other two. The atmosphere was Ok-- what I expected.. However, the wood floors made a lot of noise/rumbling when the heavy foot serving staff stomped by our table. We had a fried calamari appetizer-- but it was in their very heavy tempura .. which took away from the very fresh calamari-. We had 2 house salads w/ ginger dressing-- not as good as others I've had. My boyfriend got the tempura seafood combo-- sooo heavy w/ the tempura.. he did not like it, i felt bad for recommending the place. I got two rolls (spicy tuna & dragon roll) & ive definately had better. the prices for the rolls were not too expensive though, but I just wanted some good sushi. For dessert we had the tempura banana w/ green tea ice cream--that was good! although still too heavy w/ the tempura (we ordered a lot of tempura for hating it so much hahA). overall, i would not go back to this place because the food just wasn't that great. service was fine. Mt Fuji in deptford, south jersey remains the best place for sushi ive found so far (my search continues).

As a Fuji Mountain-goer for many years now, I have to say that the service and quality of the food run hot and cold. For awhile, the servers were complete idiots, and half the time I would wonder if the blank stare I got after I ordered was because she didn't understand what I had just said, or she didn't understand the menu. Music was horrible for awhile too. Maybe I just disliked the one server that I tended to get time and time again.
But, generally, the service and food is great. Management has redone the menu recently, and pared down the selection, but it 'usually' comes out in a timely manner, and tastes great! Seafood udon is yummy. Try the sandwhich roll, spicy scallop roll, and the crazy roll. And I love how the sushi chefs greet you when you come in! Very hospitable. Oh and upstairs is open till 1 AM, so when you get hungry and don't want crappy bar food, it's quite convenient.

the portions are small. fish not fresh. they also charge for tea! the service can be incredibly slow and the waitresses are hardly apologetic about it. I also hate when one person's food comes 30min before another in the same party. would not recommend it at all!!!

I was at Fuji Mountain last Friday and it was exactly what I needed after a stressful week of work. The service is amazing, especially on the 3rd floor. The bartender Sam offers anything you want, and makes the drinks just strong enough but at the same time delicious. You should try his sake bombs and or this Soju martini mix that is my new go to drink. The sushi was surprisingly some of the best I've had in Philly. I thought I knew all of the best sushi places in Philly, but I had no idea Fuji was right up there with all the other trendy places. It's quality, fresh, sushi with some great specialty rolls. My favorite is the ""Washington roll"" and I am craving it now just thinking about it. If you want a classy decor, hilarious and friendly bartenders, strong drinks, and a chill spot where you can get ridiculous fresh sushi, Fuji is it.

First off, let me just say that the 2 bartenders, Sam and John, that are usually there Thursday - Saturday are phenomenal. My company goes there for some happy hour sake bombing every now and then for about a year now. We always get excellent service, they serve you up fast and friendly and the drink selection is like you'd find at any high end bar. Plus they're fun to chat with and they make the bar come alive with conversation and fun. The bar upstairs also has a karaoke machine, which is a lot of laughs/fun after a bunch of sake bombs.
Second of all, the sushi is the best I've had in Philadelphia. Mizu sushi and POD sushi are ok, but Fuji Mountain really makes the sushi the way it's supposed to be made. Everything tempura is fantastic here. They have a great selection of maki and nigiri. I particularly like their hamachi rolls.
If you want to eat mouth watering sushi, go here. If you want to have an awesome bar experience, go here. One of my favorite places in Philadelphia and well worth the prices.

I do not usually write reviews, but after going to this place i had too. It is terrible. My fiance and i went there for her 25th birthday and I was not able to eat after 2 hours of sitting there. The place is small and similar to any regular sushi spot. Furthermore, i ordered shrimp dumplings for my appetizer and they were similar to dumplings from any take out crappy spot from the corner. Nothing special. My fiance ordered the Sukiyaki, which was extra Sucky Yucky, and no Suki Suki. I ordered some basic rolls. The waiter brought my fiance's food out first and did not even acknowledge me. After about 20 minutes she gave us some half a$$ apology. She came by later after another 20 minutes and another half a$$ apology. I then told her i do not want the food anymore. This place is terrible and i was not the only one disappointed with their service. There were several customers from upstairs continually coming down with mean faces ready to burst. This place is not worth wasting your time. Do not go there.

Fuji provided my boyfriend I a very pleasant and impecable service to make our first Valentine's together a night to remember. We were 45 minutes late for our reservations due to parking issues but they still held our table and were very helpful explaining certain items on the menu that we weren't sure of and suggesting a delicious new beer for my boyfriend to try. The decor is simply amazing and it's an all around great atmosphere with excellent staff. The rolls were a little smaller then what we are used to, but the prics complimented that...A+++

Fuji Mountain *used* to be spectacular. With fresh fish, creative rolls and generous portions, it was my favorite sushi place in the city. For years, I'd go literally three times a week with friends for dinner and for a snack at 1 a.m. in one of the two upstairs rooms (my boyfriend lived right across the street so we were very frequent customers and knew most of the staff). I watched as management tried to change the look of the space and for quite some time, the food remained the same. But then - suddenly - something changed. All of a sudden, as if the management made a conscious effort to cut costs dramatically, the restaurant started becoming skimpy. Their rolls went from more than a bite-sized to less than half a bite-sized. They fill them with avocado or cucumber in order to get away with only providing a tiny - almost invisible - sliver of fish. I have given them about 15 chances since noticing the substantial change and each time, I am disappointed. What you get for your money now is not at all worth it. This restaurant went from being top notch to subpar very very quickly. It's so sad to me as I have such good memories of what used to be...

I had some concerns about long wait times for delivery (sometimes well over an hour), but after discussion with management they seem to be genuine in trying to address the issue. There is no question, however that the food is among the best sushi in the city.

I love this place. Some friends introduced me a few weeks ago and I just went back today. The food was delicious (best roll list anywhere), and the service was perfect. Rarely can I find a place I like this much, and Fuji is my new favorite. Even the manager was extremely helpful in making sure my food came free of sesame seeds... a small favor that most restaurants could care less about.
I strongly recommend this place... try the Eel Meet Salmon roll, it's delicious!! I'm not much of a drinker so I can't really say much about the drinks, but their liquor list at the table seemed fairly extensive. Again, highly recommended!
