Hundemer Heating & Air Conditioning

Was referred by a friend so I figured he'd be good. He was polite, had a clean working area and explained everything that was wrong (so I thought). The inducer motor was jamming up, refusing to start and the pilot assembly was falling apart.Parts and labor equaled about $450 which was way cheaper than buying a new furnace which we couldn't afford as we've only been out of school/working/moved in for only 4 months. the furnace was out for a few days and when it's 5 degrees out, you really don't have time to get alot of estimates. So we had them fix it, but as he was finishing up I noticed that one of the four jets was firing irregularly, the flame was not smoothly flowing into the hole/cavity. He got out a tool and picked, prodded and scraped the inside of the jet for several minutes and acted like the problem was fixed, reassembled the unit and left. 2 weeks later, the furnace started acting up again, so I called them out and the same technician visited. The flame was still not blowing in correctly and it was diagnosed that the main cavity of the unit was cracked, could leak carbon monoxide back into the house and either kill us or start a fire. the only solution was a new furnace. HE COULDN'T HAVE CAUGHT THAT THE FIRST TIME?!?!?!?! He said they'd credit some of the parts back toward a new one, but I got a few other estimates from other places for a new unit, and even with their "credit" they were only $100 less than other places...WHAT A JOKE! I recommend to never use them...unless you're sitting on a big stack of extra money...
