Please find somewhere else to do business. While Garth's may be fine with auctions (I'm not sure because I haven't used them for this purpose). They promised to sell some antique bottles for me on Rgarths Ebay store. He also has another name he uses on Ebay so his seller rating is high. He (Robert) did not list when promised, and what was supposed to be within the week, turned into months. Then He only listed a few when we came to pick them up just to keep us from taking all our bottles home.
In the long run Robert and Garth's Antiques & Auction Gallery did not return 4 of my antique bottles, or pay for or replace them. Of the ones we did get back, one was damaged. Robert was loud and rude. He cannot handle this side of his business. I feel him to be dishonest and would advise anyone to reconsider having him sell for them on his Ebay site. Or in his auction house.
Let me start this response off by saying I recieved a very irrational message on my facebook page from this customer that they were going to slander me all over town. This customer has never been in my shop, he is writting this as told to him by another customer. I admit it did take me more than a week to put on the bottles. I should not have delt with this customer in the first place. I put the bottles on ebay and they didnt sell and he was mad at me for this reason. I do not control what people buy on ebay. When the customer(and please not the person who wrote this review has never been to my shop and I have never met him, his partner came in the shop) came to pickup his check, I told him to go inisde and get the chek from my father(we finally sold a few bottles after relisting them at my cost several times. He was mad because I was on my way out and I dint right him the check. I said i was on the way to look at an estate, he then got irrational and began to repeat over and over that I was a child. he then tried to force a buisness card on me. i said I did not want one and he wouldnt take it back. I had to leave so I left. All in all this was a very bizzare experience.

I was looking for an appraisal service before moving half way around the world and putting much of my possessions in storage, including many antiques, silver, and artwork. I called Garth Antiques because their website advertised this service at a rate of $300 for the whole house full. Great I thought! I called and discovered that the price was actually $400 (hmmm... bait and switch?). I gave them the benefit of the doubt and scheduled an appointment for a week later. The day of the appraisal, I arranged to leave work early and even went in 2 hours early only to be called an hour before the appointed time and told that the appraiser would not be able to make the scheduled time. Arghh! Okay, fine. We rescheduled for the following afternoon. Again, I made arrangements to be off and went in early then went home to meet the appraiser. I waited.. and waited.. and waited. A half hour after the scheduled time I called only to be told that the owner (Mr. Garth) had forgotten about our appointment and was not feeling well. While I am sympathetic in regards to his illness, this is NO way to run a business. They have no regard for punctuality, reliability, professionalism and could care less about their customers. Don't waste your time or money.
Yes I admit when she called I had not changed the price on my web site from 300 to 400. If she thinks it was bait and switch, why did she contuine? She called the day of the appoinment and my father was sick. She started compalining that she had taken 2 days off and why couldnt he come over. I called him at his home and he said he would go over. She then became mad and cancelled the appoinment. i am sorry he was sick, he did not plan on being sick. He did not do this to ruin her day. He said he would come over but she said no. This appraisal was so important for her move and she scheduled it three days before she moved. I am very sorry that we could not keep the appointment but things just happend.
