Ultrasound
Using specialized skills in assessment and treatment, hand therapists promote the goals of preventions of dysfunction, restoration of function, and/or reversal of progression of pathology in order to enhance participation in life situations for individuals with upper extremity injury and disease. We provide the best possible therapeutic treatment choosing from a full range of treatment approaches including custom splinting, wound care, scar management, heat, cold, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, range of motion and strengthening exercises, work conditioning and activities of daily living.
MRI
The MRI Center is the only privately owned MRI Center on the Mississippi Gulf Coast – which means significantly reduced costs for patients.

Iontophoresis
Our facility includes a variety of modalities and functional rehabilitation equipment including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis and traction; and also features pneumatic un-weighting system to assist in gait training, a Biodex Isokinetic System 3 in order to assist in determining when an athlete is safe to return to sports post injury and Cybex exercise equipment all designed to aid in returning patients to their maximum ability and independence as quickly and safely as possible.

We incorporate the most advanced joint replacement techniques and arthritis treatment available. The Joint Replacement Center of Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists also treats patients who need partial joint replacements, reconstruction and complex revisions.
Arthroscopy
Hip Replacement
One of the many advantages of outpatient surgery is eliminating extensive hospitalization whenever possible, permitting patients to recover from minor surgical procedures in the comfort of their own home. Traditionally, the inpatient stay for a total knee or hip replacement surgery averages between one and three days compared to five to six hours in the ambulatory surgery setting. The shorter length of stay enables patients to have surgery and begin recovery at home all within the same day.

The Sports Medicine Center is South Mississippi’s most comprehensive sports medicine program. Nineteen physicians with varying specialties, including sports medicine-certified surgeons and a board certified neurologist, form the backbone of the Sports Medicine Center and make Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists one of the largest orthopaedic practices in Mississippi.
Physical Therapy
The Physical Therapy Center of Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists has been providing top quality physical therapy and athletic training services since 1998 in a state of the art 5,800 square foot facility in Biloxi, MS.
Occupational Therapy
The Hand Center of Bienville maintains a staff of specially trained, experienced Certified Hand Therapists (CHT’s), occupational therapy assistants and technicians specializing in the treatment of problems and injuries of the hands and upper extremities.

Teresa Smith, BSPT Clinical Director, a graduate from the University of South Alabama in 2000, which is when she started with the company. She specializes in manual therapy, sports medicine, female ACL injury prevention, custom orthotics, golf injury prevention and rehab, overhead throwing athletes injury prevention and rehab, and general orthopaedics.

Ankle Instability
Using a variety of both non-surgical & surgical approaches, including arthroscopy, our foot & ankle specialists are skilled in treating ankle instability and sprains including high ankle sprains, osteochondral injuries of the ankle, foot and ankle fractures, turf toe, and tendon problems (Achilles, Peroneal, and Posterior Tibial).
