A draftsperson known how to draw though not necessarily what to draw as well they are not concerned with actual cost saving during construction called value engineering. In other words, you might pay half as much for the drawings though twice as much for construction.A good rule of thumb for professional fees in the Los Angeles are is 20-25% of the stimated cost of construction. This will increase a bit for smaller projects and decrease for larger projects.
