Had a Steel Roof installed over asphalt shingles. Quote included Synthetic Moister Guard Barrier over existing roof & installation of Ridge Vent. 30-Square roof. New Chimney Flashing installed.

Materials were delivered prompt. A week later installer came to install roof (3 young men). Upon their start of installation thing seem to be going well. Upon looking at the 1/2 section the installed the steel panels on the back of the house, I noticed that NO Synthetic Moister Guard Barrier had been put down. contacted Ed the owner claimed the delivery guy must have forgot it (but it was not even on the packing slip). The stopped the work that 1st day came back to put down the Synthetic Moister Guard Barrier and left. Following week, they came back to remove and install barrier on area they had already installed steel roof panels. If these installers were TRAINED the would have not put any steel panels down until they contacted the owner.

The next day came back to finish the job. Their idea of making an opening for the ridge vent was using a hammer to make holes on the ridge in four (4) places. Upon telling them I was not at all please with the openings they said it was how they always did it and that they opened more than usual. The original had opening cut out for ridge vent, all they need to do was remove the ridge cap shingles. NOW the little openings for the ridge vent is less ventilation than I had to start with.

No Chimney Flashing installed.

The sad part was when I was given the quote by Ed, he mentioned about a contractor that did not open the ridge vent up. I guess he was speaking about his company.
