I enjoyed the 5 bedroom house we rented for the past year, and I also enjoyed handing them a check for $19k for the year’s rent up front. What I didn t enjoy was the manner of treatment I had when we moved out and socked with a bill for $950 for steam cleaning and other cleaning we d had professionally done prior to vacating. As I ve worked in Property Management for more than a dozen years, I d expected to at least get a response to my attempt to reasonably settle the charges, or to get pictures, receipts, anything that would show the justification for the charges assessed. Coldwell Banker fell down in the regard and failed to make even a modest attempt to reach an agreement on our deposit dispute. Now, I m left with the hassle of going to court over such a small matter when a simple discussion of facts could have cleared this up weeks ago. I m disappointed to say the least and would caution you, should you decide to rent a house from them, to request a walk-through with the PM prior to vacating so you can resolve any disputes at that moment.
