Criminal Defense
The rules and regulations surrounding non-U.S. citizens filing lawsuits in Oklahoma are within the state's Rules of Civil Procedure. Under Section 2017, "any person" can sue or be sued under state law regardless of their country of origin or legal standing when it comes to U.S. citizenship status. In other words, if you do not hold U.S. citizenship, you can still file a lawsuit in Oklahoma. Make sure your claim is valid and relevant to the state government's laws and regulations for civil matters (criminal matters may differ).

Employment Contract
The Federal Trade Commission has proposed a rule that would prohibit most non-compete clauses in employment contracts, calling it “a widespread and often exploitative practice that suppresses wages, hampers innovation, and blocks entrepreneurs from starting new businesses.” The agency estimates that the rule may increase wages by nearly $300 billion per year and expand career opportunities for approximately 30 million workers.
Non-compete Agreement

Currently, the legality of such clauses is a matter of state law, with some states more tolerant of the practice than others. Sexual Harassment
Herman is seeking release from the NDA on account of a new provision – known informally as the Speak Out Act. Passed by Congress in November 2022 and signed into law by President Biden in December, the Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act of 2021 is designed to protect the rights of victims of sexual harassment or sexual assault. In other words, an NDA can potentially be invalidated based on accusations of sexual harassment or assault.
