If this is the American Portable Buildings on South Shields, you should stay away.



Yesterday I went shed shopping by stopping bye the various shed builders on Shields. Most were eager to do business with me. Not this guy. He was the only one who couldn't be bothererd to get off his duff and come out and talk to me about his product. When I did track him down - sitting at his desk smoking with a clear view of his lot - he didn't seem all that interested in doing business. When I tried to explain that I was shopping around, my requirements, timeline, situation, etc... all he could do was give me excuses about how he needed more specifics, how he needed to know exactly when I was planning on doing it, etc... I tried to explain that this was for a house I don't own yet (don't close on it for a couple of weeks), and all he could do was explain how he couldn't work from that. I was flaberghasted by his rudeness. At one point I stopped him and just flat out said "Look, do you want the business or not?" Any reasonable person would recognize that they were on the verge of losing the business at that point, but this guy? Apparently not. He continued to give me grief and a load of excuses. He aggrevated so throughly that I got up, mid sentence, gave him the finger, and walked out.



Apparently my experience was not unique. One of the other builders ahead of time had warned me not to mention his product to this guy, and one after I met him commented that others had had similiar negative experiences with him. He did not seem very busy (no employees in his shop, and he certainly didn't look like he had done anything but eat donuts all day). I don't know how he stays open, or if he is even really trying to sell sheds. He is by far the worst salesman I have ever run into. At this point, he could be giving sheds away for free and I would still go somewhere else.



If you are thinking about doing business with him, be forewarned.
