Sparrow Urgent Care-Okemos

The wait was long, the service was great, the staff was very nice, but they only had one (1) doctor working that day. I would recommend this health clinic. They sure helped me!

This is a place to avoid. They charge you for an ER visit when it should be an office visit. I was charged like this for 2 of my sons visits and I called their billing dept. it was corrected. The 3rd time they wouldn't correct it and sent me to the collection agency. I went through the attorney general. They investigated and said that it should have been an office visit so Sparrow called Aetna and then claimed Aetna changed it and refused to change it back so I would be still responsible. I went back to the Attorney Gen who then sent my stuff to the office of licensing for hospitals. They too said it should be an office visit. Sparrow wouldn't budge but eventually stopped calling. I'm in the health care field and understand billing. They get more money for an ER visit and your co pay would be more too 100.00 or so instead of 35.00. that is because with an ER visit you pay for all the overhead expenses etc. it is fraud for them to charge you for an ER visit when you went to the office, unfortunately this is Sparrow taking advantage of most peoples lack of understanding of billing and health care. I thought it was just me but was worried about what if they do this to people like yourself. Think how much money is involved with this scam. That is what it is. I agree avoid this Place like the plague and go to Haslett ready care..

Please do not go here! My physician was Dr. Susan Caldwell and it was a terrible experience! Not only was the visit incredibly overpriced, I WAS DIAGNOSED TERRIBLY!! I've had the worst experience with a physician and with the billing department at this place. Not only did Dr. Susan Caldwell have terrible bedside manner and did not know what she was doing, I have been charged so much money for such a benign visit! PLEASE DON"T GO HERE! GO ANYWHERE ELSE!
