This place is a joke !! Insurance fraud, Insurance fraud

Please do not take your children to Polliwog. They are dirty& will bill your insurance company for all that they can. My 12 year old told me that they talk to the children like dogs in the back. The first time I went I got up after 90mins. went in the back and pulled my children out. I then had to take both of my children over to Dr.Rons to undo and fix what Polliwog tried to do. It is sad when I see children around town with all silver teeth because I know they have been to Polliwog. From one mom to another (STAY AWAY)

Dont take your kids here. They dont allow parents in the back and they keep them for hours without you knowing what they are doing to them. Everytime I go here they tell me that my kids have cavities and need their teeth pulled. My 3 year old would have had to get eight cavities filled and my 6 year old 8 teeth pulled out of his mouth. this place is an insurance fraud. They get paid more money for filling cavities and pulling teeth. Come to find out they made the news check the ocala.com website.

GREAT DENTIST. I have Medicaid and no one else would accept it. My child has autism and this is the only pediatric dentist within a few hours that could see my child. They allowed me to go back with him for his cleaning and let me help with x-rays. I was not allowed to sit with him for his filling and sealants but that was fine with me. I don't see a reason for parents of non special needs kids sitting with their kids unless they are REALLY young. The place is really crowded but they had us in and out in about an hour and a half. I think this is a nice dental office that deserves more recognition for all the services they provide for our community.

talented dentist. This place knows what they are doing for sure. My 8 year needed some fillings, crowns and extractions and is somewhat anxious. The doctor explained everything in detail and showed me everything on the x-rays. My previous dentist missed a lot of things that were pretty obvious in the x-rays so I am glad we figured this out now. My wife was nervous about letting our daughter go back alone but she ended up doing fine. MOST KIDS CRY A LITTLE BIT (I almost cried at the dentist last time too!!) but the staff and doctor did everything possible to comfort her. I would suggest this as a nice dentist to go to. ONLY gripe is the parking lot and waiting room could be bigger.

nice dental office! I have 3 kids ages 3,6,11 and I took them to Polliwog to have some bad teeth fixed. They middle child is terrified of the dentist because his previous dentist before Polliwog scared him half to death . Anyways, they were able to safely sedate my child and get everything done without too much fuss. The little one needed his 4 front teeth pulled and placing some nice looking fake teeth although they gave me the option of fixing them. It was definitely better to pull them in my kid's case. He cried a little but they were as kind and gentle as possible. The staff was nice but one person reminded me to show up on time in the future because it messes up the doctors schedule. I was a little snippy to the front desk about this but i apologized. They were polite back though. I work in customer service and know rudeness goes BOTH WAYS! I liked the doctor and the assistants and the office was a big improvement over the kids previous dentist.

I had NO DESIRE to go back with my child. I used to work in an elementary school and the kids always behave better without their parents. Im sorry but this is the real world, you have to give your kids a little space and let them experience life SAFELY for themselves. Being over-protective just stifles their development.

I recommend this dentist to all my friends.

GREAT DENTIST, NICE PEOPLE. I usually don't waste the time to write good reviews like most people because a restaurant can serve 200 good meals and the only review is from the one person with the over-cooked steak. Anyways this place is no frills but nice and clean and was the only person in the area that could fix my screaming 3 year old's front teeth. The front desk and assistants were nice! It's amazing when people complain that the staff is rude but the customer started their conversation with "when the $bleep will my child be finished". I thought the staff was polite and courteous. Don't listen to any of these people below as they're just complainers. The doctor is an excellent doctor and that's really the most important thing. I will return for sure.

GREAT EXPERIENCE. I took my 2 kids here about a week ago and I found the place to be clean, the staff friendly enough and most importantly, the doctors new what they were doing. I think if you really look at the complaints, you will see that they are actually complaining about WANTING TO GO BACK WITH THEIR CHILD. I had no desire to watch my child's infected tooth get pulled out. My girl just needed a cleaning so there was absolutely no reason to supervise that. I asked them about going back and they suggested that unless my children has autism or some other serious condition, that my presence would actually make things worse, not better. I agreed. Sure, the place is a little crowded but that's about my only complaint. Quick, nice and a good experience for the kids. They also took my insurance which no one else wanted to take. Nice job Polliwog.

awesome place

Awesome place. Great doctor and wonderful staff. They dont allow u back there w ur kids which i totally understand bc it can freak them out more but this place has never hurt my kids or did anything unnecessary work that didnt need to be done. Just bc others have had bad experience doesnt mean all. Like the saying goes one person makes a false accusation they all follow. Use ur better judgment and decide for yourself. I will always take my kids here while other dentist have kicked us out bc they hurt my kids n used nasty equipment.

Great Experience

Let me start by saying what happened to my daughter. It was Sunday morning and she ran and jumped on the bed and smashed her top 4 front teeth into the headboard so hard that it shifted them backwards about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch! We immediately went to the er and they didn't do anything for her. That Sunday, a few of my friends recommended Polliwog but I was skeptical because of the poor reviews they had and because I didn't like the fact that I wasn't going to be able to go back there with her. As a terrified parent, I felt like it was a hard decision to make considering I wanted to be right by my 3 year olds side while she was going thought this. My sister is a dental hygienist in another state and she assured me that it was better that the parents don't go back there because the kids cooperate better without them and that's why they do that. With that, I felt better. I called polliwog as soon as I knew they were open and they scheduled her appointment for 45 minutes later!! I was amazed at how fast they got her in! They told me over the phone I could not go back with her and I explained that was fine. When we arrived, they went to take her to the back as soon a we got there and all I asked was that she waited with me till they were ready to work on her. The lady said hold on one minute, when she returned she told me I could go back with her!! It is amazing back there! They have a theatre room for the kids while they wait, TV on the ceilings so they are distracted and extremely gentle. As my poor baby is laying there with a busted mouth, the First Lady she saw brushed her bottom teeth and was so gentle, my daughter didn't even make a peep. The next lady she saw took her to take x-rays and she was very gentle with her cause she could see how much pain she was in. Next, she saw dr. Mike. He scraped her teeth and explained the x-rays. He said I could leave them but they would have a chance of becoming abscessed or I could have them pull them. Of course I wanted them removed. And considering she hadn't had anything to eat or drink in over 24 hours I was worried and wanted them removed immediately. Dr. Mike removed them right away and we were out of there an hour later. That night she started eating again. :) this was a traumatic experience that we had to go through but polliwog was very patient, understanding,, and gentle with her And I have to admit with me too while I was crying like a baby more than she was! Lol Needless to say, my niece who I'm raising, also went with me that day and was begging me to switch her dentist to polliwog also. :D
