Jennifer Szalkowski, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician who treats patients of all ages, from newborns to adults. She provides preventative care, including annual wellness exams, vaccinations, and school and sports physicals. She treats a wide range of conditions, including cold and flu symptoms, asthma, allergies, ADHD, heart disease, high cholesterol, COPD, thyroid disease, obesity, osteoporosis and anxiety, depression and other mental health issues. She also performs gynecological care and women’s health. Dr. Szalkowski gained valuable experience during her medical student rotations and while working at a US Navy clinic, solidifying her desire to pursue a career as a family medicine physician. She finds fulfillment in building strong relationships with her patients and guiding them in achieving and maintaining their health objectives. Dr. Szalkowski grew up in a military family. She enjoys reading, traveling, attending sci-fi conventions, spending time with her family and caring for their dogs, cats and birds. She served as a US Navy physician on active duty for four years and is currently serving in the US Air National Guard. Dr. Szalkowski earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Mercy Family Medicine in St. Louis. This practice is a part of BJC Medical Group of Illinois.
