General Surgery
Dr. Holcomb earned his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis in 1997. His training then continued at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center where he earned his medical degree. A yearlong internship in general surgery at Vanderbilt University prepared him for residency in orthopedic surgery at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. He completed his formal training in 2008 after a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He remains an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon, and the Michigan Orthopaedic Society.
Orthopedics
Before joining Birmingham Integrowth Orthopedics, Dr. Holcomb worked at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital for eleven years, where he became a respected member of the community. In addition, he has been a member of the faculty of the Detroit Medical Center Sports Fellowship program since 2008. He continues to serve our veterans at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center where he has been a member of the faculty since 2010.
Arthroscopy
Dr. Jenter's philosophy is to treat the whole patient, not just the disease. Dr. Jenter has a special interest in hip, knee, and shoulder replacement, and arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder. Regarding hip replacement, Dr. Jenter is mainly doing the Anterior Approach using the Hana table. He is currently the only provider during routine elective anterior hips at Providence Park Hospital. Pain is reduced, and many patients go home post-op day one with transition to a cane in less than two weeks. Overall patient satisfaction is excellent.
Joint Replacement
For the better part of a decade, Dr. Laker was a member of the Henry Ford Medical Group at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, serving as Division Head of the Adult Reconstructive Surgery service. He now brings his experience and expertise to Providence Park Hospital. Through his patient-centric approach, Dr. Laker emphasizes patient education and understanding to develop an appropriate course of care. Dr. Laker’s practice focuses on the treatment of arthritic conditions of the hip and knee. He provides a continuum of clinical services, both non-operative and surgical management, including complex revision joint replacement procedures.

The mission of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand is to advance the science and practice of hand surgery through education, research and advocacy on behalf of patients and practitioners.
Orthopedic Surgery
Dr. Salama was educated at Wayne State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1971. He then attended Wayne State University School of Medicine where he graduated with a medical degree in 1975. He interned at Sinai Hospital in Detroit and was trained in orthopedic surgery at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital. Dr. Salama is a member of the Michigan Orthopedic Society and is board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Joseph Salama, MD specializes in general orthopedic surgery, which includes treatment of fractures, arthritis, disorders of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments, reconstructive surgery and arthroscopic surgery. His special areas of interest are total knee and hip replacement, arthroscopic knee surgery, sports injuries, and work related injuries.

Michael W. Laker, MD is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Laker received his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor before matriculating to Tufts University School of Medicine (Boston, MA) where he earned his medical degree. His orthopedic surgical residency training then followed at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. He finalized his formal training by returning to Boston, completing a fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard University School of Medicine.
