South Stanly High School is a four-year comprehensive school that is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. It serves students in grades 9 through 12. The school offers educational programs in English, mathematics, science and social studies. South Stanly High School additionally provides classes in Spanish, cultural arts, career and technical education, and health and physical education. It offers the English as a Second Language program. The school has an athletics department that provides a variety of sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, wrestling, and track and field. South Stanly High School supports several organizations that include the National Honor Society (NHS), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and student council, as well as drama, art and yearbook clubs. It is located in Norwood, N.C., and is a part of Stanly County Schools.
