Lighthouse Behavioral Health Center

I have been in inhome counseling with lighthouse for several months. I have made a lot of progress thanks to them and if you want the best consolers around, call lighthouse.

Do NOT recommend couples counseling at LBHC:. First, their method doesnt even screen for *abuse* & avoids using the term altogether. I've since learned that *abuse* (let's call it what it is) is not a frustrating inability to communicate. Secondly: Encouraging both partners to be assertive in an office setting without screening/recognizing abuse is a really horrible (& potentially dangerous) idea. Third: Advising couples to "choose not to rehash the past" & "choose to move forward" in a decidedly positive manner is akin to awarding the abuser a free pass for their manipulative behaviors...plus....it's beyond degrading to expect the partner to further deny the abuse while praising the abuser for the so called "progress" they're making (progress at becoming more manipulative). THERE IS HELP AVAILABLE BUT NEITHER ONE OF US FOUND IT HERE.
