My daughter has been here since 12 weeks old and she's now 2. We could not be happier. They treat her and us like family. She has a severe egg allergy and they have always been so careful and by there own choice have gone egg free in the facility for her. I truely cannot express the peace of mind they have given us all along the way!

This place truly is a Home Away From Home for all the kids. The staff is very friendly and loved by all of the kids in the care. I know that when I drop my child off everyday that he is well cared for, learning new things, and having a fun experience at the same time. I recommend this facility to anyone that is looking for childcare.

My daughter has been attending this daycare for 2 years now. The staff is friendly and have become like family. My daughter has learned and grown in so many ways and I can't thank them enough for taking care of my baby while I work. Reviews are really important when deciding to place your child in a daycare center, so I urge you to pay attention to those with long term history with this buisness and not a disgruntled former employee who quit without notice. Character matters and I trust the owner and staff at Home Away from Home.

I cannot say enough how much I love Home Away From Home. My son is so happy everyday and has learned so much in his time there since he was an infant. The teachers are truly like our family, and treat the kids like their own.

I have been taking my son to this daycare for almost 4 years. I have nothing but praise for the owner and teachers. My son is a bright, smart child because of them. Please don't let the lies of a disgruntled employee prevent you from pursuing this amazing center!

As a nixa educator, I can tell you that this place is WONDERFUL! My son has attended for the past 3 years. He is currently in the 1st grade and loves the owner and workers as much as I do. They more than prepared him for his elementary education, loved on him, and disciplined him with time outs, when needed. I really appreciate how if there were ANY issues, they came and told me about what had happened. We now only use them for Fridays when my son has early outs... but I would reccomend them to any parent who loves their child as much as I do!

Before we selected this daycare I read the reviews on this site....i was hesitant, but we checked it out anyway....and I'm glad we did. My son has been attending the daycare since December. In that short amount of time he has learned so much and has become attached to his teachers. My son has a peanut allergy and they are VERY careful and call if they have any questions. His teachers sent me pictures throughout the day on his first few days there to make me feel better... I've stopped by in the middle of the day to pick up my son at an unscheduled time and things were great then, too. It's a daycare with children....things aren't always perfect, but I know my son is safe and well taken care of!



It is a great facility where I feel OK leaving him while we are at work. I love that they are flexible with our schedule, so he can spend a day a week with Grandma, too. I would recommend this place to anyone. I'm not sure where these bad reviews are coming from, but it's sad if they feel they experienced these things and couldn't talk to the staff about it. They have always been very open and approachable for me.

Before we chose this daycare I had read the reviews, both negative and positive, and decided that the bad may just be isolated problems. Boy, do I wish we had listened. It didn't take long before we noticed the problems other had experienced. Low security, staff constantly yelling at children, children running wild, untrained, uncaring, unprofessional staff. We decided after overhearing the staff gossiping and speaking very negatively with a parent about another family, we were done. My child's behavior changed drastically in the short time we were enrolled. The only thing my child learned at this "LEARNING CENTER" was horrible behavior.



I witnessed some bad stuff myself, and I think that the people who wrote the negative reviews had truth behind their experiences. I know the owner has wrote that a few had made false accusations. However, I find it odd that so many people would do that. What really goes on behind the scenes?



Trust me, find an ACTUAL PRESCHOOL, with certified teachers. Don't waste your time or money at this so called learning center. Your child deserves so much more then what this place has to offer!

My son has been attending this facility for over two years. I have been very pleased with the care given to him. They have been very understanding of his and my needs. He loves them very much and they love him. Any concerns that I have ever had were immediately addressed. Please do not let lies that have been spread by former employees or people that just like to start problems for others influence you. Go check them out for yourself. I am a picky parent and I chose them.

I would like to start of by saying I would recommed this daycare to any family with any age child or children. Owner and staff are wonderful and very helpful. I have a child with special needs and this was the first daycare to give are family a fair chance with attending. My children have been attending since 2010 and enjoy coming every day. I have no concerns about leaving my children in there care. Heather (owner) is very open and easy to talk to about any subject. All this crap about hotline calls, number pad safety, opened doors and dirty faces. I feel like you are attacking the daycare for personal reasons. As a mother I worry more about my childrens safety before my own personal feelings toward another individual. Might pick up and have dirty faces but I know they have had a good day. My children are able to tak and have never came home with any story that would concern me. Yes I would also talk to staff they are happy to share, encourage and help all children. Once again I am a proud parent that would recommend this daycare for any age child or children.

Do not bring your children here. As with the other reviews, they are understaffed. Though staff members may be on duty, they are not in the area supervising the children. There is no discipline that happens in this daycare so your children will be subjected to tantrums and physical fights by other children. It will not be reported to you because they don't have to report it unless there is a visible mark on your child. As with another reviewer, the code is never changed so the illusion of privacy is laughable. There is also a staff member who drives the bus to and from school. While picking my children up from school I have observed her yelling at the children. When my children attended this daycare (for all of three weeks) I heard her yelling and screaming there too. In addition, the children and areas are not kept clean. Children run around with dirty faces and hands and the rooms are dirty (and smell musty). Finally, I have heard that private information is not locked up. Apparently a staff member was able to access children's files that include Medicaid numbers and other personal information for the child and parent. The files were not locked up after the incident and the information was not officially announced to the parents of the children attending (I heard it from an ex staff member). Nor was the person prosecuted. So who knows who actually stole the information.



All in all, very questionable practices. If you're satisfied with this place, wait until your children can talk and tell you what really goes on. Or talk to the staff. They're all happy to share.

Our children have been attending this center for over two years now. We have referred several children to this center. I can honestly say that the owner of this center is in this business for the children. I see some negative reviews but personally have never had a bad experience. All of the staff has been more than accomodating.

For those of you considering this daycare please take a moment to read about my experiences with them. I moved to the area fresh from Kansas and needed a daycare center (I’m not one for single person in home providers) for my girls. I searched and searched on-line for options and this one with a few others actually accepted state vouchers, which I needed to use. I checked them all out and this one seemed to be the right fit. Not so much as I learned shortly after trusting them with my children. The first thing that seemed very disturbing to me was that the number pad to enter the building uses only one simple code for everyone. Now I know Kansas isn’t all that up to date with tech and all but at least every “family” had their own code to get into the building, seems it would be a LOT safer should someone’s pass code get out. Secondly, I would arrive to get my girls and see the secondary door (in the front) wide open, walk into my girls class (which is the room with that door) and find no teacher in there with all the children. It would take a couple minutes before someone would walk back in through that open door. Very odd that this seemed to be a normal practice as it happened more than a few times. Thirdly, I was informed by the staff that there was a hotline call made one the daycare because of two little girls that were hiding in an outside playhouse with their clothing dropped and were “exploring”. Granted there was always 2 teachers out on the grounds while the children played, this is still not something I can just write off, the teachers obviously weren’t watching the kids. The final straw was when I was also informed by the staff that the teacher of my girls wasn’t on “vacation”, like I was told by the owner, but was in jail for a month for violating probation. She was caught with methamphetamine in her system along with other drugs!! She was watching MY GIRLS!! This fact was of coarse known by the owner and was kept from me by covering it with a lie!! I absolutely would not every recommend this daycare to ANYONE, regardless of how YOU may feel about your children, no child ever should be put in the care of such a place as this, EVER!!



On the bright side, my girls are doing wonderfully at happy days daycare. They have been everything I was looking for and I am very happy about the care they are providing my girls.
