Tired and older-looking eyes can be caused by a variety of different factors such as genetics, sun damage, smoking, stress, weight loss, or weight gain. As we age, our skin loses its elasticity. Eyelid skin is the thinnest skin on our bodies and in an area exposed to the sun. It is no wonder that the first signs of aging on our face involve the area around our eyes!
Primary Care
An inverted nipple is a common condition. This can be due to many factors including congenital, post-infection, or trauma, and sometimes can be the result of cancer. If one has developed a one-sided inversion of the nipple in the recent past, it should be brought to the attention of your primary care physician to rule out underlying breast cancer. However, if these changes have been long-standing and thought to be due to benign conditions, repair of your inverted nipples can be performed. I utilize several different techniques for this depending on the specific situation. The technique may depend on whether the inverted nipple is dynamic (it is inverted only part of the time) or static (always inverted). There are a number of other factors in deciding what technique including the possibility of future breastfeeding.

Ultrasound
While the basic principle for liposuction has essentially stayed the same for many years, there are many types of liposuction that are now available in the marketplace. Among these include laser, ultrasound, waterjet, radiofrequency, and power-assisted types of ultrasound. Most studies show that there is no difference between the various methods.
MRI
Occasionally, breast implants may break or leak. If a saline-filled implant breaks, the implant will deflate over several days and the body will harmlessly absorb the salt water. Silicone gel implants can also develop breaks in the outer envelope. The newer style implants use cohesive gel, which some call â€œgummy bearâ€ filling. In most cases, this will keep the implant from deflating. We will discuss with you all aspects of implant rupture and the warranties the implant makers have for this. While there is no evidence that breast implants cause breast cancer, they may change the way mammography is done to detect cancer. When you request a routine mammogram, be sure to go to a radiology center where technicians are experienced in the special techniques required to get a reliable x-ray of a breast with an implant. Additional views may be required. Ultrasound or MRI examinations may be of benefit in some women with implants to detect breast lumps or to evaluate the implant.

Breast augmentation, or mammaplasty, is a procedure performed to add more volume to the breasts. This procedure is recommended to patients who want to increase their breast size out of aesthetic preference, after pregnancy, or after losing significant weight. During the consultation, breast augmentation patients will be asked about their goals to determine the most suitable implant for the procedure.
Breast Reduction

It is normal to form a scar following a surgical incision or a traumatic injury to the skin. Indeed this is the way we heal. A good scar is a scar that is a fine line, hidden in a normal skin fold or less visible area. Unfortunately, not all scars heal favorably and may be more visible than we wish. Although scars are permanent, plastic surgeons can sometimes make scars less visible, hide them, or change the nature of the scars. We call this scar revision or scar treatments.
