Arthritis
Treatments are aimed to reduce symptoms of psoriasis, but the condition cannot be cured. They may include lifestyle modifications, topical prescriptions, light therapy, and systemic (biologic) therapy depending on the location and severity of disease. Psoriatic arthritis is a form of arthritis that can affect some people with psoriasis. Psoriatic arthritis causes pain and swelling in the joints, so it is important to tell your provider if you have psoriasis and notice pain in your joints. You may be referred to a rheumatologist for management. Consult your Aspire dermatologist for further help in managing your psoriasis.
Cryotherapy
Skin tags tend to occur in areas under higher friction, such as around the neck, in the armpits, or in the groin. They are benign, but in many cases, become very irritating and painful to the client. Skin tags are removed by snip excision, freezing (cryotherapy) or electrocautery with very little recovery time.
Primary Care
In the event that my insurance will pay all or part of the physician’s charges, the physician who renders service to me is authorized to submit a claim for payment to my insurance carrier. The physician’s office is not obligated to do so, unless under contract with the insurer or bound by a regulation of a State or Federal agency to process such claim, and if pertinent insurance coverage information is presented at, or prior to the time of the appointment. Aspire Dermatology will expect payment of co-pays, deductible portions, and co-insurance at the time of service. A $5.00 administrative fee will be assessed when patients request to delay co-pay, deductibles and co-insurance payment. Patients with an outstanding balance older than 90 days must make arrangements for payment prior to scheduling appointments. In the absence of a payment plan, collections fees will be applied to the account, and the account will be turned over to a collections agency. Aspire Dermatology accepts all major credit cards as a form of payment for your convenience. We realize that patients have financial difficulty and our financial counselors will work with you to ensure you receive needed medical care. Please note that Aspire Dermatology and its providers are considered “specialists” and co-pays are generally higher than the co-pays paid to Primary Care Physician.

Internal Medicine
After graduating in 2017, Dr. Buntinx completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at Brown University and his Dermatology Residency at the University of California, San Diego. While in residency he continued to pursue scholarly and extracurricular activities including volunteering at multiple free clinics. He developed his passion for medical lasers while partnering with Clean Slate, an organization that provides free tattoo removal services for individuals transitioning out of the justice system.

Radiation Therapy
Medical treatment for a cure is very tricky because most treatments involve physical modalities that can re-traumatize the area and potentially cause keloids to recur larger. Medical improvements are possible in many cases. Still these medical procedures create improvements that occur over time, and not quickly. The treatment of keloids may involve topical medicines, injections of medicines, special Band-Aids, radiation therapy, lasers, and in only the most severe cases, surgical removal.

Wound Care
The first line of treatment for both conditions is to eliminate the causative agent, which can often times eliminate the condition. Skin testing for allergens can be performed for the more difficult cases. Topical and systemic (i.e. oral) medicines are the most common forms of treatment. Light therapy and wound care are also needed in more severe cases.
Mohs Surgery
Missed Visits: Broken appointments represent a cost to us, to you, and to other patients who could have been seen in the time set aside for you. A $25.00 missed appointment fee will be added to your account if you do not provide us with the requested 24-hour cancelation or rescheduling notice. A $75.00 missed appointment fee will be added to your account for missed or rescheduled Mohs surgery appointments under the 24-hour notice.

Moles
Moles tend to develop over time and increase in number with age. Sometimes moles grow in areas that become irritated, like the areas effected by a necklaces or seat belt. Moles are removed through physical procedures, such as shaving, excisions, or lasers after local anesthesia to the area. Mole removal is performed in an aesthetically precise fashion to assure the best result. Some moles are very deep in the skin and require an excision with sutures. Dr. Michaels will recommend the best option for your best cosmetic outcome in each individual case.

Dr. Gray completed her internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. She returned to Chicago for her dermatology residency at Loyola University where she served as the Chief Resident in her final year. Following residency, Dr. Gray practiced dermatology within a not-for-profit health system in Reno, NV. She specializes in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.

Acne Treatment

Acne can be a serious condition in that some people are left with permanent, lifelong scars if not treated appropriately.

Dry skin, also known as eczema, is a very common skin condition that is characterized by inflamed or irritated skin. A genetic component is possible in some cases, but in many cases, it is related to taking care of skin too well (excessive bathing, soap, or hot water). Lesions
Many times we are faced with the development of unwanted, new growths that seem to erupt overnight. The body has a propensity to grow many benign growths with time. Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune skin condition that can affect parts or all of your skin. It is characterized by well defined, red, thick, and scaly plaques. In persons with darker skin tones, it can appear as purple, dark brown, or dark gray. The top scale of psoriasis usually has a thick silvery or white appearance. Most common sites are scalp, elbows and knees.
