I went on Friday to get a mani/pedi with my bridal party. Out of five, three of us left with bleeding nail beds. The gentleman who did my feet was quick, gentle with sensitive areas, and accurate with the paint. Totally satisfied and I left him a tip for his service. Before I got started with my hands, a different woman suggested I pay ahead of time so as not to mess my nails up by digging around in my purse for payment. I should have known better and paid after the service was provided because I probably should have refused to pay with the damage done to my hands. The woman who was working on my fingernails didn't stop at pushing back the cuticle, she cut around the whole nail and made several of my fingers bleed. She didn't say a word, not an apology, not any mention of a discount or how to prevent bleeding/inflection, she only used a chemical to blot the blood away and proceeded to finish my french manicure with acetone seeping into the opened skin. I spent the rest of the day putting bacitracin on my nail beds to try to heal them for my wedding the following day; still, they were red and inflamed. One of my sisters wound up with infection in her cuticles because she was cut so badly. Even now that my cuticles are on the mend, I've still had quite a bit of sensitivity. I wouldn't say that the injury ruined my wedding day, but it certainly didn't make for holding my new husband's hands throughout the day a great experience. I would not recommend X-Nails to anyone. I definitely would not use them if you have a special event you're preparing for.
