We offer K-laser therapy which uses the energy of light to minimize inflammation. There are numerous situations in which laser therapy could be very effective for our patients including: post-operative management of surgical incisions, post-dental care, acute orthopedic diseases, soft tissue trauma, urinary bladder inflammation, and skin or ear inflammation and more. Generally at least 3 episodes of laser are necessary for most acute and chronic pathologies. We have also had success with periodic 'touch-up' appointments after the initial treatment series resolves inflammation.

Dental Care

Vaccination
In-hospital care appointments are available if your pet is facing an illness and you are unable to schedule a specific appointment time. We ask that you drop off your pet early in the day and our doctors will examine your pet at a time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor has completed her assessment, she will contact you to discuss her diagnosis and treatment recommendations. For the safety of all animals in our care, we do require that all vaccinations be up to date prior to an in-hospital stay.
Veterinary Ophthalmology
Dr. McGhan is locally born and raised and graduated from Michigan State University in 2015. Her main focus in veterinary medicine in preventive care. Her passion is keeping all pets happy and healthy for as long as possible and is fulfilled by teaming with pet owners to support this goal. Dr. McGhan's specialties include nutrition, dentistry, surgery, dermatology and ophthalmology. At home, Dr. McGhan has 2 dogs, Ace and Duke; and 4 cats, Bandit, Bella, Meggie and Mooshu. Her life is enriched by her 2 sons, Jeremy and Reid and her loving husband, Rob. When a rare moment of free time is available, Dr. McGhan enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and hiking. Behavioral Disorder Treatment
PCR-P - this is a combination vaccine that protects against feline distemper, calici, rhinotracheitis and pneumonitis viruses. These viruses cause upper respiratory and gastrointestinal symptoms.
Pain Management
All surgical patients receive a pre-operative physical exam by one of our doctors, an anesthetic protocol based on their individual needs, a comprehensive pain management strategy, a sterile surgical pack and a monitored anesthesia and recovery. Our doctors highly recommend that all surgical patients receive additional pain medications to go home in order to optimize healing in addition to preventing pain.

Leptospirosis Treatment
DHLPP - this is a combination vaccine that protects against several viruses, including canine distemper, adenovirus/canine hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvovirus and parainfluenza.
Parvovirus Infection Treatment
Canine parvovirus causes gastrointestinal symptoms. It is passed between dogs via fecal-oral route. The incubation period is up to 14 days between exposure and presentation of symptoms. It quickly becomes a serious threat and is fatal without treatment.
Feline Retro Virus Treatment
FIV, Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, or Feline AIDS is very similar to FeLV in exposure route and delay of symptoms. Currently, there is no vaccine available and our only course of treatment may be supportive care. The biggest factor in preventing this illness is by limiting the spread and exposure, usually by keeping your pet indoors.

Losing a pet can be an unsettling and traumatizing experience. One of the best ways to ensure your pet is quickly returned to you is to make sure he or she is microchipped. A pet-friendly microchip is a device the size of a grain of rice which is inserted under the skin of your pet. The chip contains a unique identification number specific to your pet and is registered with your contact information in a database. When stray or lost animals arrive at animal shelters or vet clinics, they are scanned for a microchip - if a microchip is present the scanner will detect it and read its unique number. The shelter or vet clinic can then reference the database for your contact information and will reach out to you to let you know your pet has been found!
