Michele Kissous-Hunt is a board-certified physician assistant and has cared for patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal diseases for over 20 years, with particular expertise in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Ms. Kissous-Hunt performs a vital role at NYGA in patient communication and education, and in NYGA’s busy on-site program of intravenous medication infusion. A leader among PAs nationally, she has served as a sub-investigator on multiple clinical research trials, a co-author on numerous research manuscripts and abstracts, and a lecturer for national audiences. An adjunct faculty member of the Touro College of Health Sciences Physician Assistant Program in New York, she teaches the gastroenterology course and conducts the college’s Gastroenterology Board Reviews and clinical student lectures. Ms. Kissous-Hunt received her physician assistant’s degree with a surgical focus from Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. She serves on the National Board of Trustees for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and on the Crohn’s & Colitis National Scientific Advisory Committee. She is also the incoming chair for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation National Advanced Practice Committee. Ms. Kissous-Hunt is also a member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Academy of Physician Assistants, New York State Society of Physician Assistants, NYC Medical Reserve Corps Volunteer, and is the President of Gastroenterology Physician Assistants (GIPA).
