I've been to this office a few times and I've never seen it any less than super busy. The waiting room is always loud and full. I actually do feel rushed in and out most of the time. The staff is friendly but it's too busy and generic for me.

My son absolutely loves Dr. Pettinato! He and his staff are wonderful at making him feel at ease about being at the dentist. I will definitely be back and when my daughter is old enough, I will be taking her there too. I have seen the office busy and not so busy, but I have never had a long wait, nor did I feel as though we were rushed through our appointment. We were given ample time to address any questions or concerns we had. Dr. Pettinato is a very caring dentist and I am so thankful that we have found him!

Overall

This office is very, very busy. I left Cobbe Dental because it was run like a mill but this place was no better. Very fast paced, the doctor spends no amount of time in the room. It is a nice clean office but there's no changing table in a KIDS place? I had to take my baby out to the car to change her diaper.

Also the video games are really out of date (half of them usually aren't working) but I guess it's good they at least have games for the kids to play.

So I was reading the comments below and I think I know which nurse everyone is referring to. I brought my child in on Friday June 28th and we were in the very first room in the office. The nurse seemed to have a slightly pink eye which I immediately recognized as the beginning of pink eye. If that nurse had been working the 2nd and 3rd, I don't see when she would've had time off to get well.

I haven't been back since. The place was also super busy, I felt rushed and the nurses looked tired and overworked (in no offense to them, they looked a little scared at the rush of it all).

I actually find the comment below very helpful. If the date is accurate, I brought my children in on the 2nd of July and had the same nurse cleaning one's of my children's teeth. On this day the nurse also looked very uncomfortable and as if she had just contracted the pink eye. I've seen it before, my kids have had it...and contagious or not, her eye looked awful! In no offense to the nurse. She looked as if she didn't want to be there...and if she had pink eye, she shouldn't have been!

My kids do always have a good experience at the office, the nurses are always nice, but I may have a different view towards the doctor now after seeing the uncomfortable and sick nurse.

I brought my two children in today and I was disappointed with the office. The nurse that cleaned my daughter's teeth had pink eye. I have seen pink eye enough to recognize it when I see it. It was apparent the nurse was uncomfortable. I don't blame the nurse I blame the doctor. If I could see it was pink eye why couldn't he! Send your sick workers home!!!!! Do not put others at risk to get sick too. I don't want to risk my child's health at the expense of this office's negligence. The doctor is also very generic when dealing with my kids. On the plus side the nurse was very friendly and gave me lots of info. Aside from that it was ok considering it was a dentist visit.

I completely understand your concerns, and I wish you would have mentioned it prior to leaving our office so we could have alleviated your concerns. As you know, we have the most up to date office and abide by all safety protocols so not only are you and your children safe, but also myself and my staff are safe as well. Pink eye presents itself in a very unflattering manner, but once treated, it is no longer contagious. Unfortunately, it can still look pretty terrible even though it is not contagious. Your nurse had already been off from work for 3 days treating her eye, so at that point there was no need for her to miss work. If she had just contracted the eye infection, she would not have been allowed to work until treated, but this was not the case. I appreciate your feedback, and hope this answers any questions you may have had. We are a very welcoming office, and especially appreciate feedback during your appointment to avoid situations like this. If you ever have any questions in the future, I encourage you to ask any of us so we can help you. Our mission is to make kids and parents happy during their visit, and for years to come.

This office is always very busy, waiting room is always full. The hygienists are very nice but the Dr. seems to be rushing through each room, it felt very impersonal when I heard the Dr. saying the same lines to every child in every room. My children did have a good experience there because of the nice ladies who did the cleanings, but when the Dr. came in to do the exam he used the same set of gloves for all 3 of my kids and it looked like he was using the same instruments also. My kids may be siblings but that doesn't mean they want to be sharing each other's germs...that was just another thing that caught me off guard.

My children love coming to A Safari of Smiles! My son had to have 4 teeth pulled and Dr. Pettinato was so gentle with him. He sang to him as he wiggled out the teeth which really calmed him down. The staff is great and always takes the time to show my kids the right way to brush and floss. My daughter is usually timid and yet the staff is always patient with her and works at her pace. They have even gone as far as cleaning her stuffed animals teeth first to show her how easy it can be. We love our dentists appointments now and the kids actually look forward to them.

I am so happy I found safari of smiles. The safari dentist was gentle and explained everything. The office was very clean, pretty busy but they said it gets like that in the afternoons. My son had an extra tooth coming in and so he needed it pulled. It was incredible my son did not feel a thing and was surprised when the dentist told him it was all gone. I was so happy, I got to be there with him the whole time. I called a few other offices before going there and a lot of places don't let the parents back with their children-- which is why I chose safari of smiles. I highly recommend them.

Fabulous dentist. Totally child friendly and professional. I have twin daughters and the office was very accommodating to my wanting them seen by the same hygienist in the same room one right after the other since their father could not make it and I can't be in two places at one time. My daughters had such a good time they did not want to go home when we were done. It was a very pleasant experience.

Super friendly and on time. I used to be a dental assistant in Ohio so I know what to expect from dental visits but I was so impressed by this office I had to post about it. The entire office was so nice to my daughter (and me to) even the nice man who does the insurance (i had so many questions about my plan but he helped my so sweetly). All dentists should be as nice as this one, I cant say enough good things about them.

Best Dentist Ever !!! I brought my three children for their check ups. I had been referred to them by fellow teachers and neighbors and am so glad I saw Dr Frank. The office has the cutest safari decor and is the cleanest office I've been to. The secretaries were warm and friendly and the hygienists were great with my children. Dr Frank is extremely good with children and I could not have had a better experience.

Do Not Go There

The Hygenist put sealants on my eight year old Son's molars at the direction of the dentist without consulting me! When I told her I didn't want the sealants she said they would remove them. WHAT SHE FAILED TO TELL ME, AND AT NO TIME DID THE DENTIST TALK TO ME ABOUT EITHER PROCEDURE, WAS THAT THE SEALANTS WOULD HAVE TO BE DRILLED OFF OF HIS PERMANENT CAVITY FREE MOLARS. I did not find out that they had drilled them off until my Son told me in the car..."Mom, they were drilling on my teeth, there was smoke coming out of my mouth and it smelled really bad" I immediately pulled over and checked his teeth which were full of sharp edges and rough spots. Enamel does not grow back! We have had to fill this damage with bonding material like having cavities filled. Unbelievable. Noone is supposed to do anything to your child without your permission, you permission is supposed to be obtained after you have been provided education on the procedure and possible negative outcomes. This is called Informed Consent and is the Law!
