She completed residency training in Ocular Disease & Primary Care at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Montrose, NY, emphasizing the treatment and management of ocular diseases in a multi-disciplinary, hospital-based setting. During her residency, fellow optometrists received credits for attending Dr. Shah’s continuing education lectures. Furthermore, while completing her residency, she presented numerous research posters at both the American Academy of Optometry and American Optometric Association’s annual meetings.

The visual field test is the standard of care in glaucoma diagnosis and management. It provides proven diagnostic performance in detecting early visual field loss. It is also helpful in neurologic diagnosis, retinal diagnosis, as well as diagnosing other visual problems.

A member of several Ophthalmology societies, Dr. Del Negro serves on the Board of Examiners for the Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and is Chief of Ophthalmology at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Monmouth County. He was recently appointed to Vice Chair of Ophthalmology at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.

Cataracts
The cataract removal and IOL implantation procedure is the same as if you selected a non-adjustable IOL. Then, in the weeks that follow, your physician will customize your vision through a series of non-invasive light treatments that take only a few minutes each. You may need 3 to 5 total light treatments over a period of 4 to 5 weeks to reach your vision goals. Once your vision is adjusted, a final light treatment is used to lock in the results.
Cataract Surgery

Diabetic Retinopathy
Panretinal Laser is used by Dr. Glatman to treat Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy. During the treatment, a laser beam is used to treat the peripheral retina leading to cessation of growth of abnormal blood vessels. More than one treatment may be needed depending on the severity of your diagnosis. Your individualized treatment plan would be discussed during your evaluation with Dr. Glatman.
